Chapter 302 - MGSFV?! Chapter 302. Elysia’s Juicy Gossip Corner; Should Male Characters Join the Ship?

Mobius, unsurprisingly, didn't respond to Hokuto's soul-piercing question.

Hokuto noticed her silent reaction and smiled faintly, but didn't push the issue further.

It was Elysia who stopped whispering with Pardofelis upon hearing that Hokuto and Mobius were talking about such a topic. She gently tapped her chin with a finger.

"The Girls' Gossip Squad, huh~~ Come to think of it, I've been so busy lately, it's been a while since we all got together to share intel."

"I actually still have quite a few interesting little scoops saved up~"

"For example…"

She paused, a mischievous smile creeping onto her face, clearly thinking of something entertaining.

But perhaps because Elysia got too absorbed in the thought, she forgot to continue speaking.

Until Pardofelis prompted her: "Elysia-san, for example?"

"Pardofelis, you're still so into this topic…" Elysia blinked.

Speaking of which, although everyone always showed up when Elysia called for a gathering of the Girls' Gossip Squad, the atmosphere wasn't always ideal—especially with Mobius and Sakura often being hard to vibe with.

But Pardofelis was the exception. She was always enthusiastic.

In a sense, that enthusiasm was one of the reasons Elysia could keep it going.

As for why Cat Cat cared so much about the Gossip Squad…

Well, anyone who knew her personality could probably guess.

From Pardofelis's perspective, Elysia's fun "scoops" were usually trivial tidbits, but once in a while, they were actually valuable bits of information—maybe even worth selling for a good price.

She was always keen on things that could earn her a little money.

Make enough, and she could spend her days basking in the sun without a care.

"Elysia-san's voice is so lovely, of course I'm enthusiastic~"

Of course, Pardofelis wasn't going to say out loud those little self-serving thoughts.

"Your voice is lovely too, Pardofelis~" Elysia replied with a bright smile.

"Hehe~ I'm just being honest… um… Elysia-san, could you go back and finish what you were about to say? For example?"

Pardofelis smoothly brought the topic back.

"You don't mind if I listen in, do you?"

Hokuto chimed in, coming over and taking a seat nearby.

"If you want to hear it, Hokuto, of course you're welcome," Elysia said without hesitation.

The more the merrier, after all—it only excited her more.

She straightened up, visibly energized, and announced:

"Then—Elysia's Super Interesting Gossip Corner is back on the air~!"

Clap clap!! ×2

Pardofelis and Hokuto both joined in with an enthusiastic round of applause.

Mobius, who had finally snapped out of her silence, glanced at the three's lively vibe and hesitated.

Good grief…

Noisy as ever. Every single day. Don't they ever stop?

And yet…

Muttering inwardly, she sat down too.

While Elysia was happily holding her Super Interesting Gossip Corner at Hokuto's place, Honkai Impact 3rd had just released a new story update—Chapter 31, titled Für Elysia.

If that didn't set the official forums on fire, it wouldn't feel right.

Naturally, a wave of new posts flooded in.

Players dove into intense discussions about both the current and future main story developments.

"A few months ago, I thought Mei would meet new companions in Elysian Realm and leave with their blessings. Now I realize I was too optimistic, too naive."

"Klein, come on! Where's the backup? The USB backup! Klein, let's go!"

Replies in that thread included:

[I was going to skip this, but I had to come in and give this post a like.]

"The next chapter is called Für Elysia. Between the PV and the dev interviews, I'm convinced Elysia is going to be revived!"

"A reasonable analysis of the Elysian Realm storyline: start with Elysia, end with Elysia?"

"Pardofelis: Mei-nee, I don't want to die."

"Still crying over Cat Cat? She's already prepping for a dramatic sit-up resurrection."

"We've moved on to crying over V2V, and you're still stuck on Pardofelis? (doge)"

Surprisingly, the players were relatively "calm."

Partly because the new story had already emotionally numbed them.

And partly because many of the Flame-Chasers still had hope of coming back.

Back to the point.

Aside from emotional outpourings and theorycrafting, two posts stood out.

The first was a discussion thread about the game's anniversary celebration:

"Honkai Impact 3rd: Trash Game Ruined My Youth"

MiHoYo Is Heartless (OP): This trash game ruined my youth, made me cry, wasted tissues—everyone should quit now! Stop giving MiHoYo money!!

For the Beauty of the World (2F): Did the OP finally break from emotional trauma? Maybe go see a therapist? No offense...

Cranial Strike (3F): You think the OP snapped from the story? Obviously they're trying to make everyone quit so they can snatch the official merch giveaways.

Just Want a Good Ending for the Flame-Chasers (4F): The anniversary content was weak. To keep MiHoYo from getting too arrogant, let's all quit for a patch as a warning. (doge)

Captain Theresa's Number One Fan (5F): Well said! You all quit first—I'll be right behind you. (serious face)

[Spiral] Vill-V (6F): I saw someone say Honkai Impact 3rd is boring and forces you to spend—unacceptable!

Personally, I think the beginner phase is still fun and fresh. Plus, the newbie rewards have been buffed—now's the best time to fleece MiHoYo.

So, my advice: captains above level 81, start a new account for one patch. Rediscover your passion.

What about me? I'll stay in the endgame zone to monitor things for you. You're welcome. (doge)

The players really were getting creative.

If a newcomer stumbled into that thread, they might actually believe the veterans had lost their minds from story trauma and were spewing nonsense.

In reality, they were sharper than ever.

So, that wraps up the anniversary talk.

Now for the second highlight:

A rare type of poll post, with an even rarer topic:

"Do you want male characters to join the ship in Honkai Impact 3rd?"

A Certain Captain (OP): After finishing the new story, I suddenly really want to play as Brother Kalpas. So I'm curious—what do you all think about male characters being playable?

MiHoYo Is Heartless (2F): I personally accept Brother Kalpas, but not other male characters.

Griseo Is My Griseo (3F): Same here. If all the guys come aboard, does that mean Otto too? Don't argue—his "popularity" in Honkai is undeniable.

Fairy of the Fantasia Nation, Elysia (4F): Male characters joining the ship? I'd rather not. I'm used to the current vibe on the bridge—changing it would feel weird.

Thank You Writers for Bringing Elysia Back (5F): I'm okay with it… but I'd rather they didn't.

It's All Otto's Fault (6F): Just bookmarking.

Cranial Strike (7F): Looks like a moderator passed by...

Apparently, even though Kalpas and a few other male Flame-Chasers had shined in the story—

Most players only wanted a select few, like Kalpas, to become playable.

Some didn't want male characters on the ship at all.

For someone like Kosma, the quiet background member among the Flame-Chasers, no one even brought him up.

It's a bit sad, really. Maybe things could've gone differently for them.

But that's just how it is.

After all, who could've guessed the writers would go so unhinged in Chapter 31?

That truly was… a heart-pounding twist in every sense.
