Pardofelis's latest episode of Pardofelis Explores Honkai Impact 3rd was still packed with content.
After starting with a discussion with Kevin about the new [Elysian Realm] storyline, the two moved on to talk about the internet's opinions of Kevin, followed by Kevin's own thoughts on the idea of "Kevin ."
She even read out an analysis report on Kevin .
This report? It had taken "a huge" price for her to convince Snake-sis Vill-V to help her put it together.
After all, analysis wasn't exactly her forte.
Everyone has their strengths. In her case, those were elite lock-picking skills and an uncanny sense for choosing the right direction to flee from danger.
Professional work, naturally, should be left to professionals.
As for what was in that report?
Mostly, it was Vill-V's analysis of Kevin in the game.
Though at the end of each analytical point, Vill-V appended a [Kevin Weapon System - Model XXX] development concept, a totally baffling addition.
But to the cat, that didn't matter. As long as it made the video more fun, that was enough.
To viewers, the report—full of quirky references and meta-commentary—was a hilarious highlight. Many posted bullet comments begging for more like it.
As for Kevin , while his facial expression did shift constantly throughout the reading, it didn't seem like he minded all that much.
After all, those [Kevin Weapon Systems] were for the in-game Kevin . What did that have to do with him?
Right. That's perfectly logical.
But Kevin might have forgotten—Vill-V's capabilities in reality may be no less than her abilities in-game.
If one of her personalities, say, the Great Magician, suddenly decided to act on a whim—
A real-world [Kevin Weapon System] wasn't entirely out of the question.
In fact... it might already be in the works.
Once Pardofelis finished reading the analysis report, the video was nearing its end.
"Alright, now let's read a viewer's letter."
"I picked this one out after the latest main story update."
She held up a letter—not one mailed in, of course. Just a visual device.
She had copied a fan's private message onto physical paper to read aloud.
"This one's from an anonymous Captain. Titled: Thus Spoke the Helmsman?"
"...When a helmsman truly wants to change the story, they realize just how powerless one person really is… Elysia gave everything for everyone, only to be repaid with cold suspicion and betrayal."
"The writer's malice—let it be cut down by the helmsman's blade!"
"This is the distance between her and tomorrow. This is the cruelty of the script. But her believers—us Captains—will never give up!!"
"When the soul is gone, there can be no resurrection. The writer allows consciousness to sync with a new vessel, but won't allow that vessel to reclaim a scattered soul."
"To save the one and only Elysia, I can only create new possibilities in the past."
"This alternate future shall become her timeline…"
"Elysia… live on…"
[Thus Spoke the Helmsman? Incredible message from an elite Captain!]
[I give this passage an 82, and the rest in 666s for that anonymous Captain.]
[Our Lord Overseer, please take us into the Imaginary Tree one more time!!]
In the video, after hearing the message, Kevin also commented:
"An excellent message from the Captain. It expresses what's in all our hearts."
He paused, then said: "I don't think Kevin would mind lending Judgment of Shamash to any Captain in need."
With that, Pardofelis followed up with her closing line.
"Well then, that's it for this episode of Pardofelis Explores Honkai Impact 3rd. I'm your host, Pardofelis."
"Thanks for watching."
"Mm-hmm, and a little teaser—maybe Elysia will join us as a guest on the show sometime soon~~"
The video ended there.
...
Pardofelis's new video stirred up quite a reaction in the Honkai community.
Not just because of the content—but also the viewer letter Thus Spoke the Helmsman and the closing teaser. They were both hot topics.
All in all, this episode of Pardofelis Explores Honkai Impact 3rd lit up the official forums once again.
Everyone began to anticipate Realm Kevin stepping up to lead, the potential "traitor" among the thinly-veiled characters, or some unknown creature sneaking into the Elysian Realm.
But most importantly… they had to revive—no, find the missing Elysia!
And so, with that in mind, fans began spamming the official forums, urging MiHoYo to update the game.
When would the main story be updated?
Well… that depends on production progress.
Some time later—
At MiHoYo Studios, in the recording room.
At this moment, the room was packed. Kiana, Bronya, Theresa...
Basically, everyone who could make it, did.
"Why did you suddenly call us all into the recording studio?" Theresa asked Hokuto with a puzzled expression.
Hokuto glanced toward Elysia, who was at the recording equipment getting ready.
"I just wanted you all to hear Elysia's next lines—and see if she can deliver something that makes everyone feel thoroughly uncomfortable."
"Huh?"
Theresa looked even more confused. "No offense, but with a voice like Elysia's, how could anyone not like listening to her?"
"Mm, true," Hokuto admitted. "Which is why this is a real challenge for her."
"I wasn't done talking," Theresa continued. "And why does Elysia have to say annoying lines in the first place? What's this new arc in the main story? Don't tell me you're about to pull off another 'Ultimate Twist'?"
"I'm warning you—if you go too far, I swear, one day while I'm at work, I'll see a mob charging into MiHoYo HQ."
Hokuto replied with complete calm: "Relax. If I'm not scared, what are you worried about?"
"..."
"Forget it."
Theresa opened her mouth, paused halfway through, then said nothing—just shook her head gently.
At this point, Hokuto left Theresa behind and approached Elysia.
"Ready?"
"Mm."
Elysia glanced nervously at the script again.
There were two lines on it.
[Oh my, still alive? Then next, should I say this…]
[Hi, how does it feel?]
"These are lines for me?"
"They're not," Hokuto answered bluntly.
"Then who?" Elysia asked, puzzled.
"Didn't you say during your livestream that a 'Faded Elf' might show up?"
Hokuto gave her a look—you guessed it.
"These are the Faded Elf's lines."
"There really is a Faded Elf?!"
Elysia was shocked. She'd just made a random joke at the time.
But she quickly regained composure, frowning in thought for a moment.
"The Faded Elf… is a villain?"
"Yeah."
"Her tone is like Otto's? The lines sound normal, but they somehow make you uncomfortable?"
"...That's about right," Hokuto nodded after thinking.
Elysia: "..."
She still didn't know how this scene would play out in the game, or what happened beforehand.
But her instincts told her: Hokuto was definitely planning another twist on the level of "Elysia, she's dead."
So if she voiced this scene… wouldn't she be complicit?
"Any more questions? If not, let's get started. Everyone's waiting."
"I'm just wondering… what kind of story are you trying to write next?" Elysia asked in a low voice.
"Of course, just like always—a story that lets people believe in beauty. After all, you're in it," Hokuto said, tossing her a compliment in passing.
But Elysia didn't puff up with pride and launch into a confident speech like she normally would.
Instead...
"You fill the story with knives… and still want players to believe in beauty, in love… Isn't that a bit…"
Elysia struggled to put the feeling into words.
