_______________________________________________________________________
As the Overseer's voice fell, silence swept across the entire Marvel Universe.
Viewers felt like they were witnessing something bigger than anything they had seen before. On-screen, the Foundation seemed to be kicking into overdrive, its vast machinery mobilizing at full capacity.
Thenâ
BEEP. BEEP. BEEP.
An alarm blared loudly across the live feed.
"Warning!"
"Warning!"
"Deadly infohazardous entity detected in the cafeteria!"
"All unauthorized personnel are strictly prohibited from approaching!"
S.H.I.E.L.D Headquarters
The sharp alarm continued to echo, and the cafeteria on-screen was suddenly surrounded by tactical teams.
Nick Fury's expression shifted from shock to raw fear.
Then from the shadows... several ominous figures emerged.
His eyes widened.
"...O5 Council?!"
He stood frozen, breath caught in his throat.
How could it be? This had started as a seemingly casual discussion over dinner. Yet now not only was the Supervisor presentâseveral O5 Overseers had shown up in person.
Could reality reconstruction have already begun?
Fury turned sharply to the screen, his mind racing.
What exactly is SCP-3999?
And who... or what... is Researcher Talloran?
On Screen
Inside the cafeteria, a technician was scanning the cognitive resistance of the three researchers.
"Researcher Zyn, cognitive resistance: 16.8."
"Researcher Lois, cognitive resistance: 15.4."
"Researcher JamesâŠ"
The technician paused.
His face suddenly changed, and he looked between his instrument and James in disbelief. Then he looked to the Supervisor, silent and visibly shaken.
The Supervisor frowned and approached. When he saw the reading, his eyes narrowed with surprise.
"Reset the scanner," he said calmly, though tension tightened every word.
The audience watching the stream was on edge.
What's James's cognitive resistance?!
No answer came. Instead, the Supervisor quickly turned and addressed the gathered researchers and Overseers.
"We're facing a critical situation."
An O5 member stepped forward. "The authenticity of SCP-3999 is... in question."
The Supervisor shook her head. Her voice, while composed, carried the weight of something cataclysmic.
"Based on recent deductions⊠There is a 95% probability that a K-Class end-of-reality scenario has already occurred in this world. Possibly multiple times."
The livestream exploded.
"WHAT?!"
"Multiple reality-ending scenarios??"
"Because of that file?"
"Isn't Talloran just fiction?"
"NO WAYâO5 wouldn't make this kind of mistake!"
"That means... this actually happened?"
The scene shifted.
"There was once a researcher named Talloran," the Supervisor said. "His full name is lostâcorrupted in all files. Every document referencing him has been damaged."
She turned toward James.
"This deduction... came from him."
All eyes turned toward James.
Standing in the spotlight, James was unshaken.
"Based on the contents of the file, it's clear that a deep, possibly inseparable link exists between Researcher Talloran and SCP-3999. They may very well be... one and the same."
A gasp swept the room.
"But," the Supervisor interjected, "if SCP-3999 is torturing Talloran... wouldn't that mean it's torturing itself?"
James raised one finger.
"First, we don't fully understand how SCP-3999 coexists within Talloran. But its purpose is clearer than everâit wants to break his will."
A deadly silence followed.
Everyone involuntarily glanced at the horrific lines from the archive.
[Researcher Talloran must be tortured once a month.]
[His family and friends must be killed in front of him repeatedly.]
The very words painted a picture of psychological annihilation. Talloran watched, helpless, as the people he loved were killed again and again.
All he could do... was endure.
James's voice came again, low but resolute.
"If Talloran's will is destroyedâif he surrendersâthen reality will fall."
The Supervisor nodded grimly. "SCP-3999 will become the dominant force in existence."
Zyn, her voice quivering, asked, "And then what?"
James didn't flinch.
"Then... humanity ceases to exist."
Everyone in the room felt the weight of that truth. The silence that followed wasn't just fearâit was awe.
But James wasn't finished.
He pointed back to the file.
"Look here. These lines show how far reality has already fallen."
[Talloran searches for an exit but crashes into a concrete wall.]
[Though there's only wall, he senses it's a monumentâassembled by some surreal artist.]
['I'm trapped,' he thinks, 'The outside reality no longer exists.']
The Supervisor paled.
"There are no strike-throughs on these lines..."
James nodded.
"That's right. This isn't metaphor. SCP-3999 caused reality to collapse. The universe returned to Chaos. This is the core of the ZK-Class event."
The room was silent again.
S.H.I.E.L.D
Nick Fury's face went blank. Agents around him gasped, some literally stepping back from the screen.
Kamar-Taj
The Ancient One's hand trembled as she examined the file on her astral table.
She had initially dismissed it as another anomaly.
But nowâ
It wasn't just real.
It undid reality.
Her heart, a fortress forged over centuries, quivered in fear.
Elsewhere... in the Void Beyond the Universe
A towering figure clad in a blue cape stared at a glowing screen.
The Watcher, Uatu, one of the most ancient beings in the multiverse, whispered to himself:
"Another reality⊠I've never seen this one."
Despite his race's omniscience, he knew nothing of this "Foundation Universe."
"Reality manipulation... fascinating."
The Land of Nothingness
The GrandmasterâGao Tianzunâstared wide-eyed at the contents.
A mischievous grin stretched across his face.
"Now this... this is a game worth watching."
Back in the cafeteria, James finally broke the silence.
"Despite all this⊠the situation isn't as hopeless as it seems."
People looked up, startled.
"Even though he should have given up⊠he didn't."
He pointed toward a pivotal part of the file.
[SCP-3999 [WILL BE CONTAINED]]
[Even though he couldn't understand the material around him, he still tore it open.]
[He saw light below.]
[SCP-3999 [WILL BE CONTAINED]]
Lois blinked.
"What are we looking at?"
James responded with conviction.
"The moment the tide turned."
Zyn stared at the pages, her voice catching.
"He didn't stop. Despite everything⊠Talloran kept fighting back."
Everyone rushed to read more:
[He thought of his family, his colleagues, his life before.]
[SCP-3999 WILL BE CONTAINED]
[This cave is accessible.]
[SCP-3999 will be contained in the Place Where Everything Goes Wrong.]
Then it appeared:
[These two lines... are not crossed out.]
Lois's eyes widened. "Wait, they're not?"
James nodded slowly.
"Yes. Within the ruins of reality... Talloran began to reshape the world. He took back control."
A collective gasp swept through the room.
Lois jumped to her feet, fist raised. "This is itâthis is the counterattack of humanity!"
The chat erupted.
"YES!"
"Talloran is still fighting!"
"Contain that damn thing!"
More lines followed:
[SCP-3999 will be devoured by the Dunkleo Wolf.]
[Researcher Talloran cannot be contained by this object.]
[Researcher Talloran will fight back.]
Fight back.
Those words hit like thunder.
They didn't know how long he had endured.
But nowâthey knew he hadn't surrendered.
He was fighting. And slowly, SCP-3999 was starting to lose its grip.
Still, the file tried to reassert itself:
[Once a month, SCP-3999 will inject 50,000 tapeworm eggs into Talloran.]
[Once a year, it must be worshipped as Godhead Immortal and Supreme.]
[Talloran is an arrogant pencil. Screw him.]
That final line broke the tension.
The live audience burst into laughter.
"Did it just insult him like a petty child?"
"LOL! It's losing it!"
"This isn't powerâit's fear!"
Yes, it was afraid.
The more SCP-3999 boasted of its godhood, the more it revealed its desperation.
Because Talloranâbroken, tormented, forgottenâwas still standing.
He didn't need to become something else.
He remained himself.
He is Talloran.
