Point of Divergence: Sacrifice and Rebirth
After destroying the God Hand and even the Idea of Evil, Guts is offered peace, but at a terrible cost. Casca's soul, purified and whole again, can ascend—but only if he trades his own. Guts accepts without hesitation.
Instead of obliteration or ascension, Hell takes him. But not for punishment—he is reborn into Hell 1,000 years before the events of Hazbin Hotel, his soul too saturated in wrath, blood, and sorrow to be cleansed or judged.

Who is Guts in Hell?
Name/Title: The Black Wolf of Hell
Nicknames: "The First Butcher", "The Immortal Brand", "The Wolf King", "The Silent Flame", or simply "Guts".
The only Overlord in Hell with a genuine combat-forged soul, not just sin.
Oldest known Overlord by the time canon starts. Most others either die off or fade, but Guts never truly dies—his rage anchors him.
Appearance
A towering figure wrapped in scorched demon-forged armor—a twisted but refined version of the Berserker Armor. Its edges pulse with infernal will.
A single burning eye stares from beneath his helm. The Brand still burns on his neck, but Hell no longer feeds on it—it feeds from it.
Carries a massive version of the Dragonslayer, now forged with infernal alloys and the crushed remains of lesser demons.
He rarely speaks. His aura alone cowls entire cities in silence.

Overlord Status & Power
Power Level
Stronger than Alastor, Vox, and even Valentino combined.
Has fought multiple yearly Exterminations alone and won.
Possesses:
Anti-Angel Weaponry forged from his time as a God Hand slayer.
Overlord-class magic resistance—he rejects all forms of psychic manipulation.
Warborn aura—drives other demons into madness or submission when near.
Unkillable Physiology: His soul cannot be reaped unless he wills it.
Personality
Stoic, wrathful, but not evil.
Still carries guilt and love from his mortal life—rare in Hell.
Accepts damnation but forges his own code, giving structure to chaos.
---
His Group: "The Black Brand"
A mercenary-warrior brotherhood, echoes of the Band of the Hawk—but these are all damned souls like Guts, warriors broken by betrayal or lost causes. They aren't saints—but they're not monsters, either.
Core Traits
Named after the Brand of Sacrifice, which Guts forces on their armor rather than their bodies.
Take in only warriors who were damned for loyalty, sacrifice, vengeance, or lost justice—not greed or lust.
Act as Hell's counterbalance: a roaming force that punishes Overlords who go too far, challenges tyrants, and walks the line between chaos and brutal order.
Notable Roles
Second-in-Command: A blind female knight who fell trying to protect a corrupt kingdom's people—she acts as Guts' voice.
Scout: A demon child who speaks to the souls of the damned.
Smith: An infernal blacksmith who reforged Dragonslayer to withstand divine energy.
Healer: An angel who Fell after trying to save a damned soul—her wings are blackened, but she still glows.

Relationship With Lucifer
Lucifer sees Guts as a necessary force—a walking nuke he can't control but can aim. A soldier, yes—but not a pawn. Guts agreed to serve only when chaos in Hell became too unstable, and only for a time. His disappearance for centuries was due to this "service," taking part in unknown battles on cosmic fronts.
Lucifer respects Guts but does not trust him.

Reactions in Canon Timeline
Alastor
Intrigued. He considers Guts a relic, a legend—but one he'd never challenge. Alastor sees him as the only creature who might understand true violence beyond entertainment.
Charlie
Horrified by the suffering Guts endured, yet fascinated. She believes he could be proof that even in Hell, honor and sacrifice still exist. Wants to redeem him.
Vaggie
Sees him as a threat, especially with the Black Brand. But can't deny his discipline or control.
Angel Dust
Jokes at first—until he sees the Brand. Then he shuts up.
Lucifer (Current)
If Guts returns at the beginning of the Hazbin timeline, Lucifer would either try to re-enlist him or fear that his presence might tip the balance of Hell once more.
