"Hmmm… just a little," Elena teased, raising a brow. "Come on, Stella. I know there's more you're not saying."
"I already told you what you needed to hear," Stella replied, crossing her legs and pretending to scroll through her phone.
Elena smirked. "Uh-huh. Avoiding the question."
"Well then," Stella said suddenly, trying to change the subject. "Guess who I bumped into at our last event."
"Who?" Elena's curiosity was piqued immediately.
"Sarah."
Elena blinked. "Sarah? Like… my cousin sister, Sarah?"
"Yeah, that Sarah. And girl… she's not the same. Totally different."
Elena frowned. "Different how? Like, she cut her hair or something?"
"She did, actually," Stella said, leaning in. "Low cut. Slick and clean. She looked like she walked out of an action movie. And the outfit—black leather pants, body-fit jacket, dark shades. You'd think she was on her way to settle scores, not sip wine at a party."
"Wait—she wore that to a wedding event?" Elena asked, puzzled.
