Chapter 2038 - Chapter 2018 – Counter-Invasion

...

Along the way, every orc tribe they encountered was crushed without hesitation. The army charged forward, bolts rained like storms, and rune bombs were unleashed without restraint, exploding with devastating power. Whether it was cities or powerful Beastmen warriors, all were annihilated by terrifying firepower. The scenes left behind were gruesome—flesh and limbs scattered, everything in shambles.

Beastmen – kill!

Beasts – kill!

Cities – destroy!

Tribes – annihilate!

There was no intention of preserving any Beastmen structures or settlements. Everything the army came into contact with—whether Beastmen or fortresses—was destroyed and crushed without mercy. The War Tiger Legion's Gold-Rending Divine Spears were all soaked in blood. Behind their visored helms, their faces showed only coldness and cruelty.

They had come to the Beastmen Realm for one purpose only: slaughter. To destroy everything—and from the ruins, rebuild a civilization that belonged to Da Yi, to the Human Race.

As they rapidly advanced, for every 3,000 li they traversed, right after they left, a black-robed cultivator would silently emerge as if from thin air. With a wave of the hand, a Da Yi Immortal City would appear out of nowhere and land firmly on the ground, linking itself to the land and quickly drawing upon the earth's spirit veins and essence.

Although these cities were uninhabited, large numbers of mechanical puppets would soon climb the walls, activating the Xuanhuang Barrier.

Even if empty, each was still a Da Yi Immortal City.

The War Tiger Legion's power was overwhelming. With the combined force of a professional Da Yi military unit and war machines developed by the Heavenly Works Pavilion, they were unstoppable against regular Beastmen tribes.

Behind the legion, more and more Immortal Cities continued to appear—rising from the ground and standing tall within the Beastmen Realm. Each city immediately generated a flow of destiny (Qi Luck), like nails being hammered into the fabric of the Lionheart Empire's fate. These nails tore holes in what had once been a tightly sealed and seamless aura of national fate. As more cities appeared, the Lionheart Empire's connection to the earth's fortune was forcibly severed.

And it wasn't just the War Tiger Legion launching an offensive.

Alongside them, the White Dragon Legion was also waging war within the Beastmen Realm. Under Zhao Yun's command, they rapidly advanced, destroying orc tribes one after another. More and more Immortal Cities appeared in their wake.

At the same time, a massive domain gate opened up in the Beastmen Realm.

From within, a large number of cultivators stepped out.

It was clear they were agents of the Hall of Calamity, identifiable by the emblem on their robes. There were no fewer than a thousand of them.

"According to plan, split up. Begin sensing the spatial coordinates and teleport immediately. The faster, the better. Time is war," a high-ranking agent ordered.

"Yes, sir!!"

They immediately dispersed, vanishing into the distance using various space-based divine arts: flashing, portals, space jumps, spatial doors, and even telepathic projection.

This batch of Calamity agents had all been specially selected for having awakened spatial attribute life apertures in their bodies—cultivators capable of rapid movement and spatial traversal. Their purpose: to reach the already-deployed Da Yi Immortal Cities in the shortest time possible.

One such agent, named An Yi, opened a spatial door and stepped through. A flash of light later, he reappeared thousands of li away. Then again, he opened another gate and stepped through. Before long, he appeared before Black Panther City.

"Found it! It's really here!" An Yi exclaimed in joy upon seeing the city.

Without hesitation, he stepped inside. The Xuanhuang Barrier did not resist him—it was capable of identifying Da Yi citizens and allowed free entry without obstruction.

"Come out!!"

As he entered, a bracelet on his wrist lit up—it was none other than the celestial treasure Immortal Feather Cave Heaven, reforged from the Fallen Feather.

With a wave of his hand, countless beams of light flashed, and a massive crowd of civilians appeared within the city.

They brought with them entire families and supplies—ordinary people as well as bounty hunters from Da Yi, numbering in the Hundred of thousands.

"We made it! This is a new Immortal City. We're definitely outside Da Yi's native realms—the Sky Star Watches and StarNet connections are barely functional here. But a new city brings new opportunities. As long as we hold it, we'll gain firm control over this region and shatter the enemy empire's fate."

"All hunter brothers, report to the Hunter Hall and accept the defense missions!"

A commanding voice rang out—Gongsun Tao, the sub-hall master assigned to oversee the Hunter Hall in this Immortal City.

The Hunter Hall was a vital structure built into every Immortal City. Within it was an auxiliary AI core split from StarNet. Even when disconnected from the main network, it could still function independently—issuing missions, tracking merit points, and recording all data. Once StarNet connectivity resumed, everything would be uploaded without loss.

"Let's go, to the Hunter Hall!"

A flood of bounty hunters immediately rushed toward it. After accepting their tasks, they climbed the walls and joined the city defense.

"Citizens, do not panic. From the moment you enter the city, you are Da Yi citizens and will be protected by Da Yi. With the Xuanhuang Barrier here, no enemy will breach this city easily. We'll now begin registration and allocate housing. Please proceed in an orderly fashion. Starting today, this is your new home!"

Alongside them were officials dispatched from Da Yi, including the newly appointed city lord Liu Ciyin and a team of trained bureaucrats. They expertly organized the registration of household information, allocated residences, and stationed reserve troops along the city walls to maintain defense. Everything was carried out smoothly and efficiently—without the slightest chaos.

As the people settled in, the city's Qi Luck began to rise naturally.

From the ground, Earth Fate emerged. The people contributed Human Fate, and above it all descended Heaven Fate.

The three Fates—Heaven, Earth, and Man—combined to form a thread of Da Yi's National Fate.

Because the realm barrier hadn't been fully pierced, and with Lionheart Empire's national fate still in place, the Qi Luck coalesced into a small Seven-Clawed Golden Dragon, only ten zhang in size. Although small, its form was condensed and refined, and it radiated a powerful aura of divine authority. It perched above the Immortal City, devouring Qi Luck from the void.

The Lionheart Empire's domain was forcibly split apart.

Not in terms of territory, but in terms of Fate. Where once the empire could draw fate from this region, now all Qi Luck was being devoured by Da Yi's small golden dragon—leaving nothing for the Lionheart Empire's own Qi Luck spirit.

Both were vying for the heavenly fortune bestowed by the skies—but the seven-clawed golden dragon held a clear advantage due to its higher rank and position, devouring at a faster, more aggressive pace.

At the same moment, within the battlefield, the Lionheart Emperor felt a chill in his heart.

"Not good… Some regions in the Beastmen Realm have stopped yielding fate to us."

He sensed parts of the realm slipping from his control—not just politically, but metaphysically. Fate itself was being drained, and some unknown force was anchoring itself into his empire like nails and blades—painful, parasitic, and unremovable.

"Damn it! Da Yi is invading our Beastmen Realm!" he roared, then looked toward the other emperors.

"I sense it too," the Skyfire Emperor said with a grim expression. "Parts of my realm have gone dark—my fate spirit is sending danger alerts. No doubt, Da Yi has begun their invasion of all six of our realms. How arrogant. They think nothing of us."

This was intolerable.

After all, the six great realms had launched a joint invasion into Da Yi, even opening spatial gates into their territory. By all logic, Da Yi should be struggling to defend itself—yet here it was, invading back. It was blatant provocation, a slap in the face, complete disdain.

"We can't worry about that now," said the Gold Emperor coldly. "As long as we break Da Yi here, all of this will be meaningless. Any small problems can be crushed when we return. The priority now is to shatter this front."

"It's our turn."

Thanos (灭霸) took a deep breath and rose from his throne. His gaze fixed on the Iron-Blood Great Wall.

His body began to expand at terrifying speed.

Ten zhang... Fifty zhang... One hundred zhang...

In moments, he became a Titan thousands of zhang tall, covered in violet markings.

CLANG!!

A massive warblade appeared in his hand—Tyrant Slayer, a blade exuding the bloodthirsty and domineering will of a true tyrant. It seemed built to annihilate anything that stood in its way.

"Sons of war—attack!!"

He raised the Tyrant Slayer toward the Iron-Blood Great Wall and roared a command.
