Chapter 2019 - Chapter 1999 – Struck by Heaven’s Thunder, A Gift of Final Nirvana

The people of Mount Wutai outright refused. The reason was simple: they had just suffered defeat, and now someone wanted to sing within their sect grounds? What kind of nonsense was that—was this some kind of graveyard rave? It was blatant provocation, absolutely intolerable. Did they not care about face anymore? Just a single city lord position, and they were expected to sell out their dignity?

That was absolutely impossible.

Unless... ten city lord positions.

As for Ye Gucheng and the others—yes, they were terrified. Jingyin Yuchan (Silent Jade Cicadas) wasn't a reliable countermeasure, and Green Emperor's singing was becoming increasingly... demonic. It was said that when he sang across the grasslands, everything within ten thousand miles—flying in the sky or running on the ground—collapsed on the spot. Some never even woke up. The scene was desolate and tragic.

In short: Green Emperor must never be allowed to sing.

Once he began, who knew what could happen?

Other people charged money to sing; Green Emperor's singing charged lives.

"This is outrageous! Truly outrageous!"

Within Mount Wutai, the most hot-tempered of the monks—Master Zhan—was trembling with rage. His eyes were nearly spitting fire. Did these people think Mount Wutai had no temper? Agreeing to give up their human territories and boundaries had been out of necessity. Facing Da Yi after defeat, resistance would've been like a mantis trying to stop a chariot—useless. That was a matter of following the tide of fate; there was no other choice.

But now a green dog spirit had suddenly appeared—and wanted to sing on their mountain?

What the hell was that?

Did they think they had no pride?

"Come at me if you've got the guts!"

Green Emperor replied disdainfully.

These sect cultivators couldn't be treated too nicely. When it was time to suppress them, they had to be ruthlessly suppressed. Thinking a few arena matches would make Mount Wutai truly submit? Impossible. Green Emperor had come precisely to play the villain, to hammer them further until they understood: in the face of Da Yi, all personal agendas must be crushed.

"Unforgivable!"

Master Zhan's rage could no longer be contained. With a flash of golden light in his hand, a monk staff appeared. Without hesitation, he swung it toward Green Emperor's head.

Didn't that mutt say "hit me if you dare"?

Well, today he would beat him to death.

The staff landed squarely on Green Emperor's dog head.

The entire area fell silent.

Ye Gucheng, Prince Wuhen, Wang Xiaohu—everyone watching—instinctively dropped their jaws.

He… he… the old monk actually... hit Green Emperor.

With a monk staff. On the dog's head.

This… this was like the dawn of a new age.

Immediately, Ye Gucheng and the others jumped back over a hundred meters. Their eyes toward Master Zhan were filled with complexity: admiration, pity, reverence, and even… anticipation.

"Junior Brother, you were too impulsive..."

Master Sheng frowned slightly. He hadn't expected Master Zhan to act so rashly. Even though it was just a green dog spirit, it still came from the Da Yi Sacred Court. Even a dog represented Da Yi's face. Such behavior was far too reckless.

"Heh heh heh..."

Green Emperor lifted his eyelids and glanced at the staff, a twisted smile curling at his lips. A strange laugh leaked from between his teeth.

He had said someone should try hitting him—but he never thought anyone would actually dare. And this monk... had actually hit his head with that damned monk staff?

Unforgivable.

This was a challenge to his deterrent power.

From his smirk, tendrils of green gas visibly swirled around the monk staff, wrapping tightly and rapidly spreading—coiling around Master Zhan's arms, then his whole body. The gas burrowed into his flesh, merging into his body.

"You dared hit me? You've got guts. Good… very good. Exceptionally good."

Green Emperor swiped the staff aside with a paw and turned around, walking away with his back to Master Zhan. His red underpants fluttered in the wind.

A true man never looks back at a dying soul.

"What's that supposed to mean…?"

Master Zhan was puzzled. He had a reddish face by nature, which grew even redder when angry. Honestly, when his staff landed on Green Emperor's head, he had been shocked. That blow should've crushed a steel mountain, yet the mutt's skull was harder than diamond. It hadn't even left a scratch.

A dog… had taken his full strike unharmed?

It was simply unacceptable.

Before he could ponder further—

Grrrrrrrrumble.

A strange noise echoed from Master Zhan.

"That sound… came from his stomach."

Everyone's gaze shifted to him.

A cultivator of his level should be able to control every part of his body. Stomach growls were impossible unless something had gone terribly wrong.

"No good! I… I can't control my body!"

Master Zhan's face changed drastically. He jammed the staff into the ground, legs together, abs tightened.

"What's going on?"

"Master—what's wrong?"

Other monks rushed toward him.

BOOM!!

Before they could react—an explosive sound erupted from his rear. A violent blast of gas shot from his buttocks, knocking nearby disciples off their feet, sending some flying outright.

"What an earth-shattering fart!!"

Mister Wuhen shouted in awe.

A fart like this—loud enough to shake heaven and earth? He had only ever heard of one other person capable of such a feat: Sikong Zhaixing. Too bad that guy wasn't here—these two would've been kindred spirits.

"As expected… you can't mess with Green Emperor."

Wang Xiaohu and others backed off dozens more meters.

Anyone who dared hit Green Emperor was a madman.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

"Savage."

Ye Gucheng and the others retreated again, gasping.

Such a brutal case of diarrhea—even a True Spirit realm expert like Master Zhan couldn't withstand it. It was devastating.

It was a thousand-mile purge.

Unstoppable.

"How is this happening?"

Master Sheng's face turned grim. This shouldn't happen to a cultivator at their level. Yet it was happening—clearly not ordinary diarrhea.

CRACK!!

Suddenly, thunder rumbled from the sky.

A golden bolt of lightning shot down without warning, striking Master Zhan directly. He could've dodged it—but just as he tried, another cramp hit him, and the bolt landed squarely on his head.

The shock was blinding. Blood sprayed from his mouth.

Black mist poured off his body—within it, a deadly threat could be felt.

"No… this is Heavenly Punishment. Heart Devil… how?!"

Master Sheng's expression darkened. That lightning was clearly a divine punishment—and it had triggered a Heart Devil.

For Buddhists, Heart Devils were the greatest threat. Buddha is demon, demon is Buddha—they are one. Once your mind collapses, you fall instantly into the Dark Path. It was more terrifying than death.

BOOM BOOM BOOM!

Heavenly thunder roared like a storm, engulfing Master Zhan.

Screams rang out from the lightning. Black mist poured endlessly from his body. Soon, a blood-red flame erupted.

"Red Lotus Karma Fire!!"

Multiple monks gasped in horror.

Once karma fire touched you, death was almost inevitable.

Especially when compounded with inner demons, a crumbling mind, nonstop diarrhea, and divine punishment.

In mere moments, Master Zhan was burned to ash, leaving behind only a single relic bead on the ground.

"Junior Brother!!"

"Senior Brother!!"

The monks called out.

Everything had happened too fast—too fast for anyone to react.

A True Spirit realm expert… gone. Just like that. And the series of events leading to his death? Truly horrifying.

"So tragic. To dare strike Green Emperor's head—Master Zhan, truly a hero among men. I salute you."

Ye Gucheng sighed.

He didn't linger. With Master Zhan dead, Mount Wutai's rage was inevitable. But Green Emperor hadn't even lifted a paw. It was Master Zhan who'd struck first. Everything afterward—though clearly caused by Green Emperor—left no evidence.

The monks of Mount Wutai looked ashen-faced—but they said nothing.

They could only watch as Ye Gucheng and the others departed unchallenged.

"It must have been Da Yi's doing,"Master Ren said coldly.
