The werewolves of the Blood Moon Tribe—often called the Blood Werewolves—exuded a rebellious and untamed aura deep in their bones. Even when summoned by the Beast King's Court, they rarely heeded the call. Their tribe had yet to migrate into the Myriad Beasts' Plains, remaining instead on the periphery of the royal domain. However, one could not deny the immense strength of their tribe.
They boasted no fewer than two hundred thousand Blood Wolf Riders, a testament to their formidable foundation. It was rumored that the tribe even had experts at the Dharma Phase Realm.
Yet, even such a powerful tribe couldn't hold back the oncoming Blizzard Beast Tide for long. They were annihilated almost instantly. The entire tribe was frozen over, all its werewolves perishing—those who managed to escape could be counted on one hand.
There was no question: this was extinction. The tribe had been utterly wiped out in the beast tide.
Two hundred thousand elite cavalrymen were like a droplet in the ocean before the beast tide—not even causing a ripple. One could only imagine the sheer destructive power of the Blizzard Beast Tide.
"Three Human towns along the way have been destroyed. Casualties number no fewer than five to six hundred thousand."
The scout continued reporting.
Naturally, Human factions were among the victims. But even fortified cities were crushed like dry twigs before the beast tide, reduced to ruins and frozen wastelands. Everything in the path of the tide had been encased in ice.
The scout's report did not stop there.
Information continued to stream in—the Blizzard Beast Tide advanced almost completely unimpeded. Any force that tried to stand in its way was obliterated, reduced to dust.
"However, not all tribes were annihilated. Some chose to submit to the Ice Queen and were spared, not frozen or destroyed."
This final piece of intelligence sent a chill through the Long Wall's defenders.
As expected, under the shadow of death, submissions to the Ice Queen had occurred.
Not everyone had the courage to face death or the crushing weight of despair. For many, facing the Blizzard Beast Tide was to confront hopelessness itself. Of course, once they submitted, their spiritual fortitude was broken, and their fate and luck began to drift toward the Ice Queen instead.
"How much time until the Blizzard Beast Tide reaches our position?" Yi Tianxing asked.
"Roughly half an hour," came the reply.
"Half an hour? That's enough. Strategist, the command is yours. My only goal is simple: not a single beast is to cross the Iron-Blood Great Wall," Yi Tianxing said with a nod toward Jia Xu.
"I will do my utmost," Jia Xu replied with a smile.
In truth, no one dared claim absolute confidence under such circumstances.
"Do as you must."
Yi Tianxing's tone remained calm.
Jia Xu wasted no time—half an hour was already cutting it close.
To stop the beast tide, every available force within the Great Yi Dynasty had to be mobilized and pushed to its absolute limits.
"Bury rune bombs outside the Great Wall, covering a radius of five kilometers."
Jia Xu's first order sent teams into motion. The plan was to transform the land before the wall into a deadly minefield.
This minefield was a familiar defensive tactic for Great Yi—though normally, it wasn't particularly effective. Once the enemy knew of it, they could often find ways to counter it. But now, against a mindless beast tide, it was the perfect solution.
Beasts lacked the intelligence to recognize or evade traps. Even if they sensed danger, the tide's nature meant they had no choice but to charge forward or be trampled. Knowing there was danger would not stop them.
This would be a critical blow to the momentum of the beast tide. The minefield had the potential to inflict mass casualties and disrupt their charge.
Masses of Human cultivators poured out beyond the wall, burying rune bombs in swift, efficient formations. These weren't soldiers—civilians and volunteers eager to contribute. They knew they couldn't fight, but laying traps was something they could do. This way, the wall's defenders could conserve strength for the true battle ahead.
The five-kilometer zone would be fully covered in rune bombs—a massive area, but they were cultivators, and the task went quickly. With each breath, thousands of bombs were buried.
These newly upgraded rune bombs were far more destructive than before. Their explosive force could severely wound, even kill, enemies in the Life Map Realm. In high densities, even stronger foes could be obliterated.
Once the whole field went off, a catastrophic wave of destruction would follow.
Only Great Yi had the resources and magical technology to achieve this. Thanks to the Omni-printer, as long as raw materials were provided, rune bombs could be manufactured in endless supply.
In under thirty minutes, the entire five-kilometer field was set. Civilians returned to the wall; the soldiers stood ready.
All along the Iron-Blood Great Wall, war arrows were neatly lined up, within immediate reach.
BOOM! BOOM!
Before long, the ground itself began to rumble. Shockwaves rolled in like waves on a stormy sea.
"They're here. The Blizzard Beast Tide has arrived."
This thought echoed in the minds of every soldier and cultivator atop the wall.
To say they weren't nervous would be a lie. You can lie to others—but not yourself.
From the horizon, a white blizzard mist blanketed the sky, like a roaring tsunami of snow charging across the land. Just one look stirred despair.
This was not a force that could be resisted with sheer will. It was a natural disaster.
The temperature plummeted further still. Even seasoned cultivators felt the bone-deep cold—like their very blood was starting to freeze.
Everywhere the cold touched, ice crystals spread across the earth. The world itself seemed to shiver under the oncoming frost.
"What terrifying cold… The beast tide hasn't even arrived, and the frost has already struck first."
Young Lord Xu stood atop the wall, his voice grave.
"They're coming… so many Ice Beasts…"
The frost wave was followed by innumerable beasts—every kind imaginable, all radiating deadly cold.
"Giants… Ice Giants!"
"So many Ice Giants. This could be a real problem…"
Towering Ice Giants, each over a hundred meters tall, charged forward. Even taller than the Iron-Blood Great Wall, they wielded massive frost spears and marched with thunderous steps. Just breathing sent clouds of frost swirling into the air.
These terrifying giants made many defenders' hearts pound with unease. They were not easy enemies.
Overhead, Ice Dragons swooped and circled—vast creatures with crystalline blue scales and massive wings. They breathed frosty blue dragonfire, scorching the air with every flap.
Their majestic forms blocked out the sun, cloaked in a blizzard.
There were over a hundred visible Ice Dragons—with more trailing behind. Just seeing them could shake the heart.
"Archers, ready!!"
"Ballistae, ready!!"
"Rune-gun formations, ready!!"
Commands rang out from the walls.
Great Yi's troops were all battle-hardened elites. Though shaken, they knew no fear. This wall was their duty, their shield. There was no retreat. No room for hesitation.
This was the Iron-Blood Great Wall, Great Yi's strongest defensive line.
They would stand or fall here.
ROOOAAR!!
From within the beast tide, countless Ice Beasts howled in unison. The Ice Giants barreled forward. Their eyes locked onto the Great Wall with savage delight—as if they couldn't wait to crush it beneath their feet. All obstacles in their path would be utterly annihilated.
And yet, even they felt an aura of death from the wall itself.
The killing intent from the defenders rolled over like crashing waves—unlike anything they had ever faced before.
Still, they did not see these Humans as true opponents.
All that blocked the beast tide... would be destroyed.
The tide drew closer.
10,000 meters.
8,000 meters.
7,000 meters.
Faster and faster it came. The closer it got, the more frenzied it became. The earth shook with the oncoming stampede.
And then—
At 5,000 meters, it happened.
BOOOOOOM!!!
The rune bombs buried beneath the ground were triggered. In a split second, explosions erupted like volcanic blasts. Waves of annihilation surged upward, engulfing the beasts at the front of the tide.
The power of destruction clashed violently with the beasts' icy aura—
