Chapter 1040 - Chapter 1028: Heavenly Fire Meteor

Flames!!

The dark night sky was abruptly engulfed by a blazing crimson firecloud. It was massive—utterly colossal—blotting out the sky and stars, transforming night into day. Its scorching aura spread at an alarming pace, visibly swelling with each breath, radiating an overwhelming sense of heat, as though the entire battlefield had been thrust into the height of summer, under a merciless sun.

"What kind of divine technique is that scroll unleashing? Its aura is terrifying. The area it covers... it's as if the entire Bramble Plains is about to be consumed. If it detonates, the whole plain will suffer annihilation," Huang Chengyan inhaled sharply, his brows tightening with dread.

He sensed an overwhelming danger.

"What's going on? Why is the sky turning red?"

"Such a massive sea of fireclouds... Is that the Lava Giant casting a divine technique? I'm sensing a suffocating aura of death. What kind of divine power is this? Why does it feel like even we are within its range?"

Not only the humans—across the battlefield, countless warriors of other races wore stunned, horrified expressions.

"Huorong, are you insane? You're casting something like this on the battlefield? Are you trying to kill all of us too?!"

"We're allies here! Are you not even considering our lives?!"

Furious roars erupted from many alien powerhouses. No one wanted to die, especially not at the hands of their own. That would be the cruelest joke of all.

But none of this could sway Huorong in the slightest.

Suddenly, a deep and terrifying sense of crisis surged in every warrior's heart—human or alien alike. It was as if something reached into their souls and gripped them tight. The battlefield fell deathly silent. All heads turned upward toward the void.

And what they saw made their pupils shrink in terror.

Within the blazing fireclouds, countless massive fireballs, each the size of a house, began falling like hail from the heavens. They rained down in endless numbers, blanketing the entire Bramble Plains in a barrage from which no escape was possible.

Scroll Technique – Heavenly Fire Meteor (天火流星)!!

This technique was no stranger to cultivators who specialized in fire-based divine arts. It was infamous as one of the most devastating large-area fire techniques. The destructive power it unleashed far outstripped ordinary methods. Once it descended, everything within range would be annihilated—no life could survive.

It wasn't something an average cultivator could cast. Even among experts, few could unleash its full force. To cover the entire Bramble Plains like this—only a one-use divine treasure scroll could make that possible.

"No! That's Heavenly Fire Meteor!"

"Damn it! Are they trying to burn the whole plain into nothingness?!"

"We're done for! That kind of flame shows no mercy. If it hits us, death is certain! This is madness! The war just started—how did it come to this?!"

Panic swept across the alien ranks. If the humans died, they would too. This wasn't just aggression—it was a mutual annihilation strategy. A complete death pact.

Seeing those massive falling fireballs, many of them felt despair creeping in.

Each fireball held enough power to obliterate even Life Map Realm cultivators. The flames weren't ordinary fire, but Heavenly Fire—otherworldly, apocalyptic flames that incinerated all.

And they weren't falling one at a time.

"Earth Guardian!!"

Some alien powerhouses refused to give in and shouted as they unleashed their techniques, drawing upon the power of the earth to forge defensive barriers around themselves. Every ounce of their energy poured into these shields, not holding anything back.

"Bramble Barrier!!"

A cluster of Dark Night Elves cast their racial technique, causing the luminous brambles around them to sprout wildly, weaving into thick shields of interlocking thorn-walls. These softly glowing vines formed an ethereal shield, far tougher than they appeared. They were alive—and imbued with surprising resilience.

All across the battlefield, alien warriors unleashed their most powerful defenses.

At the same time, the human legions reacted without hesitation.

The Eight Gates Locking Gold Formation formations were quickly dismantled.

"Heavenly General Formation – Soldiers Gather!! All troops, lend your strength to your commander!"

With loud, commanding shouts, each army changed formation. The Eight Gates formation wasn't built for this kind of defense—it couldn't hold. Changing formation was the only chance at survival.

The soldiers, drilled by battle-hardened instinct and trust in their leaders, didn't hesitate. They activated the Heavenly General Formation, channeling all their energy into their legion commanders.

In an instant, twelve enormous Heavenly Generals manifested on the battlefield, towering figures who looked up at the incoming fireballs with calm, unwavering eyes.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!!

The sky exploded.

Meteors of fire rained down in a cataclysmic storm. Everywhere they struck, flames erupted in a radius of hundreds of meters. Blistering heat waves surged outward, sweeping warriors off their feet. Even those not directly hit were flung aside like leaves in a storm. As for those caught in the center of the blasts? They were torn apart, their bodies consumed and vaporized in pure flame.

The blazing inferno spread across the battlefield, igniting the luminous brambles and turning the Bramble Plains into a sea of fire.

Carnage. Utter devastation.

Even alien powerhouses in the Life Map Realm couldn't survive a direct hit from a fireball. At best, they were left dying. Most didn't even leave ashes.

No one believed survival was possible under such a bombardment. It wasn't war anymore—it was annihilation incarnate.

"This Lava Giant really plays hardball," Tong Huang muttered, face pale with shock.

Watching such an apocalyptic scene would shake anyone to their core. The battlefield was nothing but fire now. Escape was impossible.

"They intend to drag the Da Yi forces down with them—to perish together, to burn us all in one final price. Ruthless. Resolute. This Lava Giant will become a terrible enemy if he grows stronger," Jia Xu declared grimly.

He recognized the terrifying threat this being posed.

"Relax," Yi Tianxing said calmly."No one is getting out of here."

He stared up at the descending fireballs, but he knew—this wasn't the final form of Heavenly Fire Meteor. This was merely the beginning. Even the Lava Giant probably didn't know the scroll's full potential. But now… now they were seeing it.

The "Heavenly Fire" had arrived—but the true "Meteors" had yet to fall.

When they did, the devastation would go beyond anything witnessed so far.

His eyes turned to the Da Yi legions.

With the Heavenly General Formation gathering the strength of thousands into a single war body, he wanted to see just how far the Heavenly General Warforms had evolved.

"Slash!!"

As a massive fireball descended, a shout rang out. It was Guan Yu. He raised his Green Dragon Crescent Blade and slashed upward in one mighty arc.

His speed was beyond comprehension.

The azure blade-light surged, containing within it a coiling Azure Dragon that tore through the air. Space itself seemed to crack under the weight of the strike.

CRACK!!

The blade collided with the fireball—and without pause, cleaved it in two, sending it crashing to either side of the Godslayer Legion's position. None of his soldiers were burned.

"Kill! Eat grandpa's axe!!"Cheng Yaojin bellowed, spinning his massive battle axe to shatter fireballs one after another, splitting them into shards that scattered among the remaining alien soldiers—each shard igniting more screams.

With the strength of tens of thousands behind them, the Heavenly General Warforms held near-apocalyptic might. Even Law Manifestation Realm beings would fall before them.

Across the battlefield, generals cleaved fireballs with brutal force.

CRACK!!

RUMBLE!!

And then—without warning—the heavens split.

From within the fireclouds, the real threat revealed itself:

Massive flaming meteors, each over a thousand meters wide, plummeted from the void—true heavenly bodies, wrapped in apocalyptic flames, ripping the sky apart as they descended in brilliant, death-dealing arcs.
