Chapter 998 - Chapter 0986 – Nameless City

Some things can naturally be traded, but others cannot. There must also be control over the quantity of items exchanged. As long as these boundaries are maintained, whether or not trade happens is no issue at all.

If you think that the goods exchanged at the mutual market will remain solely in the hands of your trade partner, you're hopelessly naive—daydreaming, really. That kind of thinking is dangerously innocent.

It's acceptable to let items out, but only things that the Great Yi Dynasty has already begun phasing out—those that don't affect the balance of power between both sides. Only such items can be released. Yi Tianxing had no intention of strengthening the enemy.

Time flew by, and before anyone knew it, the Fifteenth of August had arrived.

This day was long-awaited by countless cultivators.

Shua shua shua!!

Whether within Immortal Cities or out in the wilderness, the teleportation coordinates leading to the Nameless City were fully activated at this very moment.

"Finally! The mutual market is open—everyone, go inside!"

"Let's move! Off to the market. The human race has so many good things. This time, we're bringing our specialties and treasures to trade for as many human goods as we can. Human salt and seasonings are divine. Once you've tasted their spices, everything else tastes like grass!"

"Go, go, go! I want porcelain. Last time, Little San flaunted a porcelain bowl in front of me. This time, I'll trade for a bigger one and make him green with envy!"

"I'm after clothes. Human clothing is so beautiful—far better than any fur or leather!"

One by one, members of various alien races geared up and stepped into the teleportation array.

This time, far too many races were heading to the mutual market.

The Great Yi Dynasty had what they desperately wanted—things they dreamed of obtaining.

As for the humans, they were already prepared. Merchants had amassed vast stores of goods, ready to make a killing in this open trade.

Shua shua shua!!

As the teleportation array pulsed with light, large groups of non-humans vanished.

When they reappeared, they found themselves in a vast underground space.

This underground area had been entirely hollowed out—a massive cavern with no way to estimate its true size.

In its center stood a majestic Immortal City, towering proudly. Its walls glowed with a mysterious earthy yellow light, made from Xuanhuang Bricks, which were not only incredibly tough but fused with the land itself. The surface was etched with mysterious patterns.

The city's architectural style wasn't flashy—no different from a typical Immortal City. However, residential buildings were absent. Instead, large swaths of open space had been set aside, replaced by numerous taverns and inns. The whole layout was clearly designed to accommodate large numbers of non-humans coming for trade.

But the city was not uninhabited.

Inside, countless beings had already settled in.

On closer inspection, there were humans, dwarves, oddly-proportioned goblins, and even elves, minotaurs—a jumbled mix of races. The city looked chaotic, like a melting pot of all living things.

Most of these individuals wore battle armor or leather gear, standing guard atop the city walls or patrolling in small squads. Each wore a five-colored medal, an emblem of identity called the "Freedom Medal".

Only those tasked with maintaining order in the mutual market could wear this medal. It was a symbol of authority. In the event of any dispute, these guards could be sought out.

Above the city gate hung a large plaque, engraved with glowing characters:

Nameless City!!

Even before the mutual market opened, troops from every race had already begun stationing themselves in the city—including a contingent from the human race.

Here, there was no fighting. All sides had agreed to jointly maintain the market's order.

So when many alien cultivators entered the underground space, the sight of mixed-race warriors everywhere immediately invoked a strong sense of awe.

"So this is Nameless City… What a massive Immortal City. It could probably hold several million beings. The human race's architectural ability is honestly impressive."

Many aliens couldn't help but feel deeply shocked.

Constructing such a city was beyond the reach of most races.

Instinctively, they entered the Nameless City.

At the gate, only routine guards were posted. No alien was obstructed from entering. Coming and going was completely free—no fees required.

Inside the city, there were huge plazas, and in each stood obsidian-crafted stalls. Each stall was relatively small and intended for alien traders to use when selling their own goods.

However, these stalls weren't free. Each one required ten Eternal Coins per day to rent. Still, that was considered a small cost.

In the very center of the city was an even larger plaza, where several towering platforms stood.

These were the exclusive trading platforms of the human race—high-end, majestic, and prestigious. Atop the platforms were already countless items on display:

Crates of crossbow bolts, Bone Arrows

Bone War Bows, Divine Crossbows, and even Ballistae

Various talismans

Bottles of refined pills

Rolls of Fog Brocade and Cloud Brocade

Fine bone, pots, pans, and utensils

Everything from food to tools was comprehensively covered.

One platform held a mountain of Eternal Coins, glowing with divine golden radiance.

This was the essence of the mutual market—an exchange of wealth. Money was, and always would be, the central theme.

Next to the platform of coins stood a towering pavilion—a bank, designed specifically to exchange Eternal Coins. The giant pile of coins was clearly placed to make an imposing first impression and capture the attention of every non-human guest.

The human race had entered first and occupied this core trading zone. Many human cultivators had already rented stalls and displayed their wares—self-forged weapons, homemade pills, and more.

"So many Eternal Coins... it's like a golden mountain. If only they were mine..."

Sure enough, the first thing the alien visitors noticed was the mountain of coins. Their eyes widened, and they swallowed their saliva subconsciously, their greed palpable.

They instinctively edged closer to the platform.

"Stop right there. The Eternal Coins here are for display only. Do not approach."

Human guards stationed around the platform immediately barked orders when aliens got too close.

"In Nameless City, all transactions must be conducted using Eternal Coins. Before you trade, you can exchange your own treasures—spiritual herbs, heavenly materials, rare resources—into Eternal Coins. The pavilion beside you is the official bank for Eternal Coin exchange. The exchange is unlimited. You can trade for as many coins as you wish."

The guards spoke coldly but clearly.

Though the aliens yearned to rob the golden mountain blind, none dared act. The formidable enchantments surrounding the city warned them that Nameless City was not to be trifled with.

So they could only obediently enter the bank to perform their exchanges.

There was, of course, a conversion rate, and it always favored the bank. Still, it was a profitable exchange. Eternal Coins were already well-known for their potent cultivation benefits.

Many races had tried to mimic them—but failed.

Even the dwarves and goblins couldn't reproduce Eternal Coins. They were heavily sealed with forbidden arrays. Touching them directly would cause rejection; divine sense couldn't penetrate them; and the very filthy essence of money repelled all spiritual probing. No matter what technique or effort was used, no one could replicate them.

Suddenly, a commotion swept through the Nameless City. All eyes turned toward the entrance.

A group of stunningly dressed—and stunningly beautiful—female foxkin walked into the city.

Each of them was a rare beauty, exuding natural allure from their very bones. Every smile, every glance carried a charm that captivated the soul.

"The Foxkin! The Foxkin are here—and look how seductive they're dressed. What are they planning?"

"It's been said the Foxkin acquired a large amount of human fabric and started tailoring their own outfits. And now, seeing them in person—wow, they really are gorgeous."

Led by a captivating matron, the Foxkin women strode into the city and reached a vacant spot. With a flicker of light, a pavilion appeared in the leader's hand—a six or seven-story structure made entirely of green wood.

She casually tossed it into the air, and it expanded instantly, growing massive as it fell to the ground and landed with a boom.

It stood tall, impossible to ignore.
