Chapter 809 - Chapter 0798: Goblin War Chariots

After the prototypes were completed, a batch of goblin war chariots was quickly forged using the Universal Printer. This time, Yi Tianxing held nothing back as he entered the Divine and Demonic Battlefield—he brought in all his trump cards. With the capabilities of the Hongmeng Heavenly Emperor Tower, transporting a fleet of war chariots was an effortless task.

Upon closer inspection, the goblin war chariots were ferocious and menacing—like steel beasts.

Beneath each chariot were iron wheels forged entirely of steel. The wheels' outer rims were embedded with cold, blade-like spikes. Just from the rotating wheels alone, enemies on either side would be shredded to pieces. At the front of the war chariot were two sharp ramming horns, shaped like bull horns. A direct collision would easily pierce even the most powerful beast.

At the center of the chariot stood a cannon barrel, entirely black and etched with mysterious runes, exuding a profound Daoist rhythm. This was the war chariot's core weapon—the Crystal Core Cannon (晶元炮). It used crystals (晶石) as its power source, transforming their energy into compressed cannonlight that unleashed the contained spiritual energy in a violent burst.

The destructive force was immense, and more importantly, the Crystal Core Cannon did not consume a cultivator's internal energy, relying solely on crystal stones. As long as crystals were abundant, it could fire continuously.

Once these chariots appeared on the battlefield, they became terrifying engines of war.

On the upper level of the chariot was a tower turret capable of housing three archers simultaneously. From this elevated position, they could launch devastating, long-range attacks with superior field vision—all while remaining relatively protected. This adjustable-height tower acted as a battlefield command post, especially deadly when manned by elite sharpshooters capable of sniping enemy officers and key figures.

On each side of the chariot were heavy ballista ports, not the regular Divine Machine Crossbow bolts, but massive bed crossbow arrows—referred to on the chariot as Ballista Cannons (弩炮). One Ballista required two operators, making four in total for both sides. These bolts gleamed coldly, ominous and dangerous.

At the rear of the chariot was a catapult launcher, similar to a trebuchet, designed to hurl rune bombs (符文炸弹) that could bombard enemy positions at range.

The entire exterior of the chariot was covered in bladed barbs, transforming it into a monster of war. Simply getting close meant certain injury or death—these were killing machines incarnate.

The chariots were powered by crystals, which activated internal gears and engraved formation arrays, granting them astonishing speed. Once charging, they rivaled cavalry in pace and ferocity.

While based on the original Goblin War Chariot design, the modern version had evolved drastically. Only the structural framework remained; everything else—Crystal Core Cannon, Ballista Cannons, adjustable arrow tower—was custom-built by the Heavenly Works Pavilion (天工阁) according to the Great Yi Dynasty's battlefield standards.

The resulting war machine was a beast of steel and death, each one ten meters wide—towering juggernauts of destruction.

Operating a single war chariot to its full potential required around eleven soldiers: one pilot, one Crystal Core Cannon operator, three archers, four Ballista operators, and one or two for the catapult.

Now, every war chariot was fully manned and armed. There were a thousand chariots in total—a true war chariot legion. Leading them was none other than Feng Yumo.

This legion had been secretly formed, hand-picking elite troops from the military, and this would be their first battle.

Their dramatic entrance immediately stunned the foreign warriors atop Sunset City's walls. This was clearly no ordinary war chariot.

"Begin the siege!"

Yi Tianxing gave the command.

"Attack! Kill!"

Feng Yumo raised his longsword, and the war chariot legion began its charge. Iron wheels thundered across the ground.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

On each war chariot, the Crystal Core Cannons charged and fired. Brilliant beams of cannonlight shot toward the city walls like cascading curtains of divine radiance. They struck the walls and the warriors on top like divine techniques incarnate.

Each beam was infused with compressed energy from crystals, delivering a fierce burst. The sheer speed made the cannonlight almost invisible—only a white flash could be seen before they struck.

"Hold the line!"

A minotaur warrior on the wall roared in defiance. Yellow light enveloped him, forming a wall-like shield imbued with the power of earth—the Life Aperture Divine Power: Iron Bastion (坚壁).

Among defensive techniques of the same realm, this was considered one of the strongest.

BOOM!

The cannon beam struck the yellow shield. The barrier trembled and dimmed drastically but held—though the minotaur coughed blood from the impact.

A second beam immediately followed.

BOOM!!

The already fragile shield shattered, and the minotaur was blasted backwards, chest torn open by the blast. His body was blown apart moments later.

The Crystal Core Cannons had power rivaling Life Aperture Realm cultivators. Most crucially, their firing rate was rapid and continuous.

Cries of agony rang out across the city walls.

Swish! Swish! Swish!

The war chariots' Ballista Cannons launched volleys of massive arrows, each one gleaming with rune-light. These rune-infused bolts were devastating—many infused with penetrative power like Armor-Piercing Arrows (破甲箭), which bypassed magical barriers and ripped through defenders.

"Destroy those bolts, quickly!"

The foreign defenders panicked. Divine powers and spells like Wind Blades, Fireballs, Water Screens, Ice Blades, and more bombarded the incoming bolts. Some were intercepted mid-air, exploding with immense force.

But others punched through—slamming into the walls and tearing warriors to pieces.

Then came the Rune Bombs—catapulted in a scatter-shot pattern like deadly fireworks.

"What are those!?"

Many foreign warriors, unfamiliar with the bombs, tried to strike them down mid-air.

BOOM!

On contact, the bombs exploded violently, unleashing waves of annihilation force. Bodies were flung apart, walls torn asunder—chaos and carnage reigned.

The true destructive power of the goblin war chariots had been unleashed.

"Divide the chariots into four units—attack each of the city's four gates and suppress the defenders!"

Feng Yumo issued his command. The thousand chariots split into four contingents, each heading toward a different gate.

"Vermilion Bird Legion, attack!"

Yang Ye gave his order, and the army advanced. With the defenders overwhelmed, the moment to strike was perfect. Crystal Core Cannons and Ballistae suppressed the walls, while elite sharpshooters atop the towers launched Bone Arrows (白骨战箭)—grim tools of death harvesting lives with precision.

The wall defenders were thrown into disarray—unable to mount a coordinated response.

Yang Ye's forces surged forward.

Swish! Swish! Swish!

The archers stopped a few kilometers short of the walls and unleashed waves of arrows—so dense they blotted out the sky.

Many defenders barely saw the darkening sky before agony struck—their bodies pierced repeatedly, collapsing like rag dolls.

To them, it was an apocalyptic nightmare. Most had never seen such a fearsome barrage. Terror gripped their hearts.

"My king, I request the use of a treasure to fully secure victory and take Sunset City."

Standing beside Yi Tianxing, Jia Xu's eyes gleamed.

"Which treasure?"

"The Spatial Gate (空间门)."

"Very well."

Yi Tianxing nodded, already understanding his intent.

"Please open a Spatial Gate directly into Sunset City, allowing our army to appear within. The defenders are a mix of various races with no unified command structure. Their lack of cohesion is their greatest weakness. With morale already broken, this will end the battle decisively."
