Chapter 3: The Unbelievable Magic Trick…

"I am Magician Miss Seven, and today I will be presenting some of the best magic tricks." Magician Miss Seven said to the audience.

With a smile, she said, "Let's begin the show!" She glanced at Karan, who stood beside her. "Excuse me, gentleman, if you don't mind, could you please pass me the tissue paper on that table?" She asked Karan.

Karan flinched a little because she called him all of a sudden. He then quickly adjusted himself. "Sure! But may I know how much tissue you would need, Magician Miss Seven?" He asked.

Something within her snapped. Her eyes twinkled with joy or you could say, with madness. She grinned and said, "I would only need one tissue, gentleman…"

Karan hesitated for a moment. "What was this feeling? Did I really see her eyes twinkling? Or was I hallucinating? Anyway, I should give her that tissue." He thought to himself. He grabbed one tissue and handed it to her. He smiled awkwardly and said, "Here…"

She took the tissue. She smiled at him. Her smile was filled with mischief and madness. She said, "Thank you so much!"

Karan flinched. "What's with this smile? I mean, it's okay to say thanks with a smile but her smile… her smile is creepy! I don't know why, but I have a strange feeling about this woman. Something… something's off about her. I need to keep my distance from her." He thought to himself.

He quickly moved a distance away from her and sat down on a chair in the front row.

She saw it all, but she didn't react. Instead, she smirked. "Hmm… I see… someone has suspected something strange… Anyway, let's start the show." She thought to herself. She opened the tissue and held it in both hands. She showed it to everyone. Her voice was filled with confidence. She said, "Look at this tissue paper…"

The tissue was plain white in colour, and it had a beautiful pattern of roses on it.

She continued to talk and said, "It's empty from both sides!" Then she held that tissue in one hand from the corner, and from the other hand she took out a lighter from her pocket. She lit it and set fire to that tissue paper. It quickly caught fire and started to burn. She waited until it burned till it got to the end.

As it reached the end, she flicked her hand and the tissue turned into a beautiful, fresh red rose.

The audience gasped in surprise at this trick. The children started to clap and the adults followed as well…

Clap… clap…

Miss Seven stepped down from the stage. She moved forward towards the front row. She leaned slightly in front of Mrs. Malhotra and handed her the fresh rose, saying, "A beautiful rose for a beautiful lady!"

The crowd cheered up, and Magician Miss Seven bowed to the audience.

She stepped back and moved towards the boy who had previously spoken to Karan. She leaned forward to the boy. The boy's face flushed red because she leaned way too close to his ear and she asked, "What's your name, young gentleman?"

"My name is Roy! Roy Malhotra!" Roy said with confidence.

A smile curled up on her face. She said, "There's something behind your ear, young gentleman…"

Roy's eyes widened in surprise. Before he could process anything, she took out a coin from behind his ear and said, "Oh! So you were hiding this coin behind your ear, young gentleman?" She stood tall and showed the coin to everyone. The audience clapped for her magic trick.

But Roy's words cut through that. He said, "Anyone can do that trick! If you can bring a Bhakarwadi from behind my ear, then I will agree that you are a real magician!"

Everyone was stunned and gasped at the comment Roy gave on Miss Seven's magic trick.

Gasps…

Roy's mother glared at him as if she was going to give him a lecture. He also noticed it.

"I know Mummy is watching me and I am risking my whole life for this… but I am confident that she could never take out a Bhakarwadi from behind my ear. But hey, wait! What if she just simply managed? Shit! Then Mummy is really going to give me a two-hour-long lecture! But how could anyone do this trick on the spot?" He thought to himself.

While Roy was literally calculating all the possibilities which could ever happen in that situation, Miss Seven was enjoying the moment. "No matter how difficult the situation is, I will always find a solution which will leave you all speechless. Actually… I love being challenged! Kid, this challenge is no big deal for me… I would love to accept it!" She thought to herself, a smile curled up on her face.

Roy was still lost in his thoughts. Miss Seven leaned slightly and took out the Bhakarwadi from behind his ear. She stood tall and showed that Bhakarwadi to everyone. Everyone got shocked because she really took out a Bhakarwadi. "There you go, young gentleman!" She said with a bold smile.

"Now let's move further." She continued, while moving toward the stage. She got on the stage and took out an origami sheet from her blazer pocket. The origami sheet was shiny blue in colour, and it shone in the golden lighting.

She then started to fold it. After she was done folding the sheet, it turned into an origami butterfly. She glanced at the audience and called a little girl from the middle row. "The young lady in the green dress, would you like to assist me?" She asked the little girl. The little girl's eyes twinkled with joy. She hopped from her chair and joined Miss Seven on the stage.

"What's your name, young lady?" Miss Seven asked her with a gentle smile.

"My name is Ananya!" Ananya said to Miss Seven.

"Ananya… What a lovely name! Young lady, would you please help me to cast a spell on this butterfly?" She said with a warm smile.

"Yes!" Ananya said while nodding her head.

"We will cast the spell together. Let's start!" Miss Seven said, and lowered herself down to the level of Ananya.

After that, she placed the origami butterfly in the centre of her palm and covered it with her other hand. She then blew on her hands. "Young lady, please make a blow." She asked Ananya. She gave a slight nod and blew.

"Now shall we cast the spell together?" Miss Seven asked. Ananya again gave a slight nod, and both started to cast the spell.

"Wings of paper, awake and rise,

Within this evening sky!"

They both cast the spell.

Everyone's attention and focus was now on Miss Seven's hand.

Miss Seven moved one hand aside, which had been covering the origami butterfly, to reveal it.

To their surprise, the origami butterfly had actually turned into a real butterfly! It sat still on her hand. Its wings were a beautiful blue colour, and they shone in the golden spotlight of the stage. Then, it made the slightest movement by lifting its wings.

Ananya's eyes sparkled with amusement, and the crowd was also surprised by this magic trick. A smile curled up on Miss Seven's face since the trick was a success.

The butterfly flew into the sky, as if it was dancing with the stars in the night.

With such a magic trick, everyone was left speechless.

Miss Seven stood tall and watched the butterfly fly away, letting it disappear into the darkness of the night sky.

She then bowed in front of the audience.

The audience clapped for such an unbelievable magic trick.

Clap... Clap...

"A rose, a coin, and a butterfly were just the beginning... The show is only getting started. But the real game? That's about to begin…"
