Chapter 52 - Chapter 52: Bulma

Watching the changes in his body, Smith Doyle couldn't help but smile. The Saiyan bloodline truly was a fascinating power.

After absorbing the martial arts memories from his character card, Smith Doyle did a few light stretches. Luckily, he didn't accidentally stomp a crater into the floor—he could control his new strength quite well.

He glanced at the punching bags in the training room. With a casual punch, his fist tore right through one. He figured if he fully unleashed a Kamehameha here, he might accidentally blast the entire textile factory apart.

Still, even if he couldn't go all out, controlling a small energy blast should be manageable.

Smith Doyle brought his hands together at his waist. A ball of energy formed between them, radiating a bright white glow.

"Kamehameha—"

"Haaa... meee... haaa... meee..."

Controlling the output carefully, Smith Doyle released a beam of white light from his palms. The blast tore through every punching bag in its path before slamming into the far wall.

BOOM!

The explosion left a gaping hole in the wall. Looking at his handiwork, Smith Doyle was very satisfied. He had used only a tiny fraction of his energy, and the loss was already fully recovered, yet the damage was considerable.

With his current strength, RPGs, tanks—none of that could even scratch him anymore. He no longer worried about the upcoming appearances of any "superheroes."

And if he unleashed a full-power Kamehameha, it could probably push the moon just like Master Roshi did. Unleashing it in a city would be unimaginably devastating.

As Smith Doyle marveled at his new power, the training room door suddenly swung open. Fox rushed in with a few members of the team.

"Smith! What happened here?"

"Are we under attack?!"

Fox asked urgently, eyes darting to the massive hole in the wall.

Seeing how tense Fox was, Smith Doyle chuckled.

"Haha, don't worry."

"There was no attack. I caused this myself during training."

Fox stared, mouth agape in disbelief.

"This... this looks like a C4 explosion!"

Waving his hand dismissively, Smith Doyle said,

"Fox, I'll leave this mess to you. I'm heading back."

As Smith Doyle walked away, Fox stood frozen for a few seconds before quickly snapping into action to handle the situation.

---

The next day.

Inside his office, a teenage girl appeared before Smith Doyle—Bulma, from the very early days of Dragon Ball.

She looked to be about sixteen, and as she stared at Smith Doyle, she thought to herself, Wow, what a handsome big brother!

Seeing the starry-eyed look Bulma was giving him, Smith Doyle cleared his throat awkwardly.

"Ahem... ahem."

"Bulma, welcome to this world. I have a few things I'd like your help with."

Bulma's entire focus was on Smith Doyle, and she eagerly responded:

"Smith-nii, what do you need me to do?"

Smith Doyle smiled and said:

"I need your help with a few things. First, I need you to build a Dragon Radar. Second, I'd like you to develop a gravity chamber. And third, I need space capsules."

In Smith Doyle's mind, the Dragon Radar should be fairly simple. It would make finding Dragon Balls much easier later on. As for the space capsules, it might be a bit tricky depending on local materials, but Bulma should manage. The gravity chamber would probably take a little longer to design and build.

Bulma looked a bit surprised.

"A Dragon Radar? So... the legend of the Dragon Balls is real?"

Smith Doyle nodded. At this point, Bulma hadn't yet met Goku and hadn't confirmed the truth about the Dragon Balls.

"It's all true. I'll have people assist you. If you need any special materials or resources, just let me know."

Bulma lifted her chin proudly and declared:

"Since it's a request from Smith-nii, I'll make it happen!"

Smith Doyle pressed a button on his desk, and soon Fox walked into the room.

Fox was a bit surprised to see the young girl inside but said nothing, merely asking:

"Leader, you called for me?"

Smith Doyle nodded.

"Fox, this is Bulma. From today, she's our chief scientist. Arrange her accommodation, and help her set up a laboratory. Fulfill any of her requests without hesitation."

Fox hesitated for a moment—such a young scientist?—but he didn't question it aloud. There were outsiders present after all. He could ask Smith about it privately later.

"Understood, Leader."

Fox turned to Bulma and said:

"Miss Bulma, please come with me. I'll get you settled in."

As they were about to leave, Smith Doyle added:

"Also, have John Wick come see me."

After they left, the office door was soon knocked on, and John Wick walked in.

John immediately dropped to one knee in a respectful salute.

"Leader, your orders."

Smith Doyle smiled.

"John, sit."

John rose and took a seat nearby.

Smith Doyle studied him carefully—John's aura had completely changed. He no longer carried that air of despair; he looked full of life.

"John, Helen has been revived."

"But I suggest you don't take her back to your old home, and don't let her run into any old friends or acquaintances."

"You must understand, resurrection is an enormous secret, one that would bring you endless trouble if revealed."

For the first time, John Wick truly considered the implications. Until now, he had been lost in the joy of having his wife back.

"Leader, I'll sell the house."

"Helen and I will stay here at the headquarters. I'll also arrange a new identity for her."

Smith Doyle nodded approvingly.

"I'll help cover your tracks on my end. But remember: stay low-profile."

"This world is far deeper and more dangerous than you realize."

"Spend some time training here... and cherish your family."

Thinking back to the Dragon Ball events he had seen, John realized that this world was indeed far more complicated than he ever imagined.

"Understood, Leader."

After finishing the conversation with John Wick, Smith Doyle went to the recovery room. He pulled the healing pod he had obtained from the system out of his inventory and connected it to the base's power supply.

He left the maintenance and replication of the healing fluid to Bulma. The pod came with only a limited supply, so they couldn't rely on it indefinitely.

Just as Smith Doyle finished setting everything up, one of his men rushed in.

"Leader, there's an FBI agent requesting to see you. His name is Phil Coulson."
