As a flash of light goes off in the center of town square, the people standing around begin to talk about the chance at being the first one to offer the new arrival a spot in their team. "Come on, you got the last 3 people to come through, let us have a chance this time." says one man wearing silver plate mail with red trimming on it.
"I already told you Aaron, i would give you the chance to buy it from me. Either that or beat me in a fight." says a large man with a scar that runs from the middle of his jaw to his ear. "Come on Jake, you know none of us can afford what you want. Just because your'e strong doesn't mean we are scared to fight back, there are 4 of us and only one of you." says the man standing to the side of Aaron with a bow across his back.
"Since you seem to have the advantage Devon, why don't we just fight now?" says Jake as he smiles and draws his Greatsword.
As he sees what's about to happen Aaron steps forward "Stop Devon, You know we wouldn't win and even if we did, we would lose too many to make it worth the risk. You can make the first offer Jake but we will take the next person to appear, what do you think?"
"And here i was thinking i would get a good fight today." Jake chuckles
"Thats fine Aaron, but keep your little pup under control or i won't bother talking next time." He continues to say as he puts away his sword and steps forward to meet the new arrival.
Welcome to the 2nd floor of the Tower.
Damon can't help but smile when he reads that notification that appears in front of him. Looking around he sees Humans and what he remembers to be the [Kharic] Race, one of the many humanoid Races that can be found within the Tower. From what he's heard they are one of the more Friendly Races in the Tower and the ones who deal with most of the trading throughout the Tower. One guy in particular starts approaching him and extends his hand out.
"Hi there, good job on clearing the first floor kid. I'm Jake, what's your name?"
"Thanks, my names Damon" as he shakes his hand.
"Nice to meet you Damon, I stay here on the Second floor permanently as a representative for one of the Tower Climber guild called 'Primal'. We're a close combat focused guild and judging by that sword and the way you're keeping your hand so close to it means you don't shy from a fight. Am i wrong?" asks Jake as he glanced at Damons hand.
Realizing he had his hand hovering over his sword, Damon smiled and scratched the back of his head. "Sorry about that, guess i'm a bit more tense that i thought. Yes, my family follows the Path of the Swords so i have been training since i was a child."
"Don't worry about it, most people that show up take a while to realize they aren't in danger while within the city walls. I was hoping to talk to you and see if you had joined a Guild or had thought about which guild to join?" Jake asks.
'Should i join this guild? Most people join a guild for support but with my new Abilities, do i really need the help?' as Damon thinks about this, he realizes that the risk of someone finding out about his abilities would greatly increase if he did join a guild. Seeing how it could expose him he decides he won't join one for now. "Sorry but i don't think i'll be joining any guilds as of right now." Damon says while smiling apologetically.
Jakes smile begins to falter as he realizes he was just rejected in front of everyone and says. "Are you sure about this? Although my guild isn't in the highest floors of the Tower, we are spread throughout the bottom 50 and have a very large influence outside of the Tower as well. Think carefully about this because this decision could have a very large impact on your future Tower experience."
"I think i can manage on my own but thanks." says Damon as he hears the vague threat in Jakes tone. He starts to walk away only to be stopped by a hand on his shoulder.
"You need people to watch your back kid, you never know what someone will do inside the tower." Jake says as he sneers and squeezes his shoulder.
"Thank you for the advise but i think i can manage on my own." Damon says as he shakes his hand off and walks toward the pedestal in the center of the area and puts his hand on it.
Requirements not met for advancement to the 3rd floor. Would you like to exit the tower?
Yes/No
'Yes' Damon answers and vanishes from the spot.
"Did that kid just reject 'Primal'? Hahaha. Serves him right for trying to throw his weight around." Devon laughs after Jake starts storming off into the city. "While it was good to see it happen, there is a reason it doesn't. Of all the people to reject the Primals invitation, only 2 have made it out of the fidst 10 floors and only one surpassed the 50th. Unless something unexpected happens, that kid just ruined his chance at climbing the tower and may have even put himself in a lot of danger." Aaron says as he watches the spot the boy was standing before.
"Should we help him out when he comes back?" Devon asks Aaron.
"There isn't much we can do, unless you expect me to start a fight against Primal over a boy that just passed the 1st floor. Did you inspect him when he showed up?" Aaron replies.
"Ya but i didn't get much for some reason, he might have a concealement trinket or something because i only got his Name and Race. It was Damon Dardonos and obviously he was Human." answers Devon.
"I got the same thing when i did it as well so maybe he has some sort of backing and Primal won't be able to do much to him. Let's focus on the next recruit." Says Aaron as another flash goes off in the square. "Yeah, maybe he will be alright." Devon says as he starts walking toward the new arrival alongside Aaron.
