Chapter 167 - Chapter 166 - The Last Two

The next to walk the path was Lune.

She had the rope tied around her stomach and a confident look on her face.

And it showed that it was not just a farce.

Each step she took was calm, with purpose, and confident.

"You are doing good, Lune," Blanc yelled as she passed the halfway point.

The cold attacked her skin as well, yet it did not seem to bother her that much, as the path slowly drew to a close for her.

"Should I come and get you, Little Flower?" Blanc asked.

"Let me try first," Lune replied, taking the rope in her hands.

Over the next two minutes, she attempted to climb over three times, with each time slipping back down.

Luckily, she managed her landings every time and did not get hurt.

"Take a step back, I will come and get you," Blanc said.

And Lune nodded, as, with great care, she took a step backward towards the path, making room for Blanc to get down.

"Please, don't choke me out," Blanc whispered to her as she got on his back.

To which Lune giggled as they began climbing.

Once up, Blanc took the rope off of Lune and tied it around himself.

"Get dressed, and be aware of our surroundings," Blanc said to her before slowly turning towards Kael.

To which both twins nodded.

"What should I do?" Miyanna asked, placing the jaguar pelt on her shoulders.

"I need you near the edge to help Celine up once she is at the wall, my love," Blanc explained, "Just in case she cannot climb alone."

"Okay," Miyanna nodded, "But what will you do?"

"I will make sure she doesn't fall," Blanc replied, going around a tree, making a loop with the rope around it, "Let her know she can come."

With all the preparations done on the Moose Path's side, Miyanna raised her hand in the air.

Which signaled to Celine that it was her turn to walk the path.

"Here we go," whispered Celine to herself as she pulled the rope she had around herself higher, just below her chest.

A dangerous thing to do, for if something happened, and she fell, she could snap her ribs or spine easily.

But one could not judge the fear she held in her heart.

Though it was still in the beginning phases, she did not want to risk her pregnancy by having the rope tied around her stomach, basin, or hips.

A cautious matter, but one she was more than willing to make with a proud smile on her face as she took her first step on the rock path.

It felt steady and strong.

And it showed that, as all four before her passed with no issues, to this weird bridge itself.

Another step.

She looked towards her husband, her sister, and the twins, Kael and Lune, her siblings-in-law.

Her husband was holding the rope she used with both hands, he too being just as cautious as she was when it came to her well-being, perhaps even more so than she ever could care for herself..

It made her body warmer just seeing this.

Her sister, Miyanna, was nodding with each step she took as she looked at her, encouraging her without even a word needed.

The two of them had the best of relationships. Friends, sisters, wives, and lovers.

The twins were not paying attention to her as she walked, perhaps because Blanc had asked them to keep watch of their surroundings.

They were good kids, and she pitied them because they had to be in all these situations instead of playing, training, and reading their books next to their parents.

But she most respected the fact that whatever happened, Kael and Lune kept going.

No matter if they cried, got hurt, were too comfortable, or mad, they always kept moving behind Blanc, looking at his shadow and attempting to leave it so as not to weigh it down.

Good kids indeed. She could only hope her own would be just as good.

Another step.

Crack.

The rock path broke off once Celine was right before the halfway point.

But even before Blanc noticed, Celine was already on the move.

She began dashing towards the wall at great speed.

The cold attacked her, but she gave it no heed, her eyes locked only on the rope as part of the path was falling into the gap behind her, each step she took, rushing the process even further.

The rope was ten feet away.

"Miyanna, get ready!" Blanc yelled, placing all his weight into his legs, making him almost immovable.

And Miyanna did not spare a second thought as she took the rope tight in her hands and waited.

The rock path was ready to crumble completely, and Celine noticed that.

Without much momentum, she jumped, her hands aiming for the rope before her.

The moment she was airborne felt close to an eternity. Time moved slowly, and the rope in front of her eyes looked unreachable.

She stretched her arms as far as she could.

She could feel a slight tug at the rope she had tied below her chest.

Blanc must have begun pulling as much of it as he could in that short amount of time, during which all that had happened.

Perhaps because of that tug, or perhaps because she would have done it anyway, she caught the rope, smashing her fists hard on the rock wall behind her.

She felt the pain, by the Vita she did, yet she held on.

"Pull!" yelled Blanc as he and Miyanna dragged the ropes they held toward them, bringing her to the top.

And as time caught back to reality, she was near the top.

Kael and Lune rushed towards her, and as each grabbed one of her hands, she found herself at the top of the next Garden of theirs.

"My love," Blanc muttered as he rushed towards her once her feet were secured on the ground.

But Celine didn't answer.

She turned back towards the broken rock path, only to see that rocks were floating down, slowly remaking the narrow bridge.

"Damn Gardens," she muttered under her breath as she felt Blanc's hands on her own, checking her wounds.
