"…Sigh—"
Tobirama released him, no longer trying to persuade. He knew failing to protect Konoha had caused a deep wound in his brother.
Now Hashirama had shifted all his focus onto Tsunade—and unfortunately, Tsunade was also being controlled by this evil Uchiha.
Hashirama looked at Tsunade, then said in a deep voice, "The Uchiha clan specializes in genjutsu. So I'll teach you an A-rank illusion technique."
Uchiha Yu asked, "Hm?"
Hashirama explained, "It creates a domain of complete darkness that blocks the target's vision. It's called the Darkness Illusion Technique. Want to learn it?"
Uchiha Yu replied, "I'll learn it. But it's not enough."
Hashirama raised a brow, stroked his chin, and continued, "Your Susanoo is strong, but you're still too young. Your physical strength is lacking. I'll also teach you the method of unlocking your full physical power—Monstrous Strength. Want that?"
Uchiha Yu replied, "I'll learn it. But it's not enough."
Tobirama couldn't take it anymore. This wasn't enough, that wasn't enough—was this evil Uchiha brat ever going to stop extorting his brother?
Just as Tobirama was about to interrupt, Hashirama raised a hand to silence him.
Hashirama's eyes turned as he thought for another moment. Then, seriously, he said:
"Hmm… Susanoo's defense IS strong, but clearly still lacking. Fine—then I'll teach you Fivefold Rashōmon as well!"
Uchiha Yu's eyes lit up. "Good. That should be enough for now. With these, at least Tsuna's life won't be in danger."
Too much at once is hard to digest.
If he immediately asked Hashirama for Wood Release now, it would look suspicious and forced. There would be chances in the future.
"Bastard! Stop calling her Tsuna's!" Hashirama growled.
"No can do," Uchiha Yu answered instantly.
Hashirama looked conflicted. Something about it just didn't sit right with him. Still, he relaxed a little after hearing Uchiha Yu's verbal promise. He and Tobirama were still unsure of Uchiha Yu's integrity.
At the very least, Uchiha Yu had agreed to restore the size of the space they were currently in, and once restored, he didn't mess with it again.
After a moment of silence, Hashirama began seriously explaining:
"The so-called Darkness Illusion Technique has a limited range, but you can use your Sharingan to replace the hand signs.
Once activated, it creates a domain of darkness, blocking the target's vision.
Inside that dark domain, only you—and anyone you choose not to blind—can see what's happening inside or outside the area."
Uchiha Yu nodded. He remembered this technique. In the Konoha Crush arc, when Orochimaru used Edo Tensei to summon the First and Second Hokage…
In the manga, Hashirama used it on Hiruzen Sarutobi. In the anime, it was Tobirama who used it. Either way, it severely hindered Hiruzen.
Uchiha Yu patiently listened to Hashirama's explanation—the principle, the hand signs, chakra control, and method of activation.
The two continued discussing.
The atmosphere was oddly harmonious.
Tsunade noticed Uchiha Yu fall silent again and asked curiously,
"Why did you suddenly get so quiet? Oh—sorry, I forgot. You never liked talking much to begin with."
"…"
Uchiha Yu remained silent, thinking to himself:
"I can't exactly tell her I'm busy learning from her grandfather…"
Ten minutes later—
"Have you learned it?" Hashirama asked.
This genjutsu was extremely practical in real combat, but because it was hard to master, it was ranked as A-class.
Uchiha Yu answered honestly, "Yes."
Hashirama praised, "As expected of an Uchiha gifted in genjutsu."
Even Tobirama's expression shifted slightly, though he found it unsurprising. For Uchiha Yu to reach his current level, it would be stranger if he didn't possess exceptional talent for ninjutsu.
In truth, the main reason Uchiha Yu could learn the technique so quickly was due to how often he used his Mangekyō Sharingan since transmigrating.
He didn't use genjutsu often, yet the Sharingan was practically synonymous with illusion techniques.
Mention genjutsu, and the first thing any shinobi thought of was the Sharingan.
Whenever Uchiha Yu used Yin Release chakra, it naturally passed through the ocular pathways. With the Sharingan's inherent affinity for illusions, his eyes felt as if they were constantly urging him:
"Before fighting, hit the enemy with a genjutsu first!"
"Alright, then next I'll explain how to use monstrous strength…" Hashirama began.
"Wait." Uchiha Yu interrupted. After a brief silence, he glanced at Tsunade beside him.
"Genjutsu: Darkness Illusion Technique."
Tsunade sensed the sudden flash of red and instinctively closed her eyes—but too late.
The Mangekyō pattern of the Yasakani rotated, fusing the jutsu into his ocular technique and eliminating the need for hand-seals.
Clang—
The next moment, a twenty-meter radius centered around the head of the Shinya Snake was swallowed by abrupt, total darkness.
If he wished, Uchiha Yu could draw either from his own chakra or from the tailed beast within him to expand the range even further.
"What—? Why did it suddenly turn pitch black?" Tsunade widened her eyes in shock.
In her vision, the faint remaining twilight vanished instantly, replaced by abyssal blackness—
like standing in a room at night where someone suddenly flicked off the lights.
"Hey! I taught you ninjutsu, not so you could use it on little Tsuna!"
Hashirama exclaimed, clenching his fists.
Uchiha Yu ignored him, satisfied that the Darkness Illusion worked. He told Tsunade,
"Rest for a bit like this. I'm going to study another technique."
Hearing his voice, Tsunade immediately realized—
She'd been caught in a genjutsu.
A genjutsu that robbed her of sight!
Darkness Illusion Technique…?
She frowned deeply and instinctively protected the bandages at her waist, edging away from Uchiha Yu.
She felt she had heard of this jutsu somewhere before.
But before she could speak, Uchiha Yu sealed her hearing with mental energy.
With that, Tsunade lost all five senses in succession, the silence more absolute than any prison cell.
After finishing this, Uchiha Yu released Hashirama's spirit from the confinement space—
letting the First Hokage, imprisoned for so long, step out to "stretch his legs" in another way.
"You were explaining monstrous strength just now," Uchiha Yu reminded him.
Only he could see Hashirama at the moment.
Hashirama glanced at Tsunade, sighed, and said,
"Before that, promise me you won't use monstrous strength on little Tsunade."
"I'm not that childish." Uchiha Yu shot a quick look at Tsunade sitting quietly on the ground.
Still… once he learned monstrous strength, he wouldn't have to worry about Tsunade suddenly getting overly enthusiastic during mental-training sessions and accidentally crushing him to death.
"Sigh…" Hashirama exhaled and refocused, explaining:
"Monstrous strength requires extremely fine chakra control, which is why medical shinobi learn it more easily. You can use your Sharingan to assist."
"Mm." Uchiha Yu looked toward the distance.
Once he finished mastering these three techniques, Garaga would likely be arriving at its destination.
