Chapter 405: Wishes Granted!
~Third POV~
[Hoenn Region, Nighttime, Battle Frontier – Hotel]
The fireworks were still echoing faintly in the distance, a celebratory burst against the indigo of the July 4th night. Azure leaned heavily on Green as they exited the Battle Frontier arena, the cheers of the crowd still ringing in his ears.
He'd just defeated Greta, securing the latest symbol he needed. Pikachu, perched comfortably on his shoulder, and Eevee, nestled in the crook of his arm.
Greta, ever the gracious opponent, was currently carrying both Pikachu and Eevee on her back, her strong arms easily handling their weight. Green walked beside her, a playful smile gracing her lips as Azure trailed behind, looking utterly exhausted.
Greta said excitedly, her voice carrying over the dwindling sounds of celebration, "You're a phenomenal battler, Azure. The way you command your Pokémon… It's truly inspiring how you perform."
Azure shrugged, sinking onto the plush bed in their hotel room with a groan. He offered a tired grin as he replied, "Just gotta predict their moves, you know? And my Pokémon are the best."
Green chuckled, nudging him playfully. She turned to Greta as she said playfully, "Modest as always. You've barely got the energy to stand, and you're still acting like it's nothing. Thank you for everything, Greta. We should probably let you get some rest, too."
Greta, understanding the unspoken desire for privacy, nodded as she replied, "Of course. You two have fun. And Azure… take care of yourself."
A faint blush crept onto both her and Green's cheeks as she said the last part, before she turned and left, leaving the two alone. Once the door clicked shut, Green turned her full attention to Azure.
She knelt beside the bed, her expression concerned as she asked bluntly, "Okay, seriously. What's going on? You've been pushing yourself harder with each battle. I've seen you with more energy than this after a full-on gym leader fight."
Azure sighed, running a hand through his already messy hair. He reached for a Poké Ball on his belt, holding it up.
It was a sleek, radiating dark energy, subtly different from his others. "It's… him."
Green tilted her head, her brow furrowed, "Him? What is that?"
Azure said calmly, his voice low as Green listened, "Darkrai. I… acquired him from Sird. Remember? The Team Rocket and Galactic Admin?"
Green's eyes widened slightly. Sird was a name whispered with a degree of fear amongst trainers as she replied, "You caught Darkrai? The Pitch-Black Pokémon? But… he causes nightmares. He's dangerous."
Azure admitted, "I know. That's the problem."
He closed his eyes, focusing his mind. He reached out, not with a command, but with a thought, a direct mental link. He spoke telepathically through his Viridian Force, 'Darkrai, are you still trying to put me to sleep?'
A pause. A flicker of surprise.
Azure could feel the presence in his mind, cold and calculating. Then, a voice, raspy and laced with suspicion, 'How are you not succumbing? My power should have you lost in endless darkness.'
Azure smirked, a genuine spark of energy returning to his eyes as he replied, "Viridian Force. It protects me from nightmares. It's… countering your ability. But it's also exhausting me. Every time you try, it drains me."
Darkrai was silent for a long moment. It spoke again in his mind, surprised, 'You… speak to me directly? Can you understand me?'
Azure nodded as his grin widened, making an offer it couldn't refuse, "I can. And I have a proposition. I can help you control your abilities. Unlock your full potential. You're not just a nightmare-inducing Pokémon, you know. You're drawn to them, yes, but you're not defined by them."
He knew Darkrai's power wasn't inherently malicious. It was a natural force, a consequence of its very being.
Darkrai scoffed, a wave of negativity washing over Azure's mind as it replied dismissively, 'Humans. Always wanting to control. I've been used and abused enough by one already. I will not be a tool for another.'
Azure countered, his voice firm, "I'm not asking you to be a tool."
He reached for another Poké Ball, this one a vibrant, Luxury Ball, as he continued, "I'm offering you a chance to be… more. I have Jirachi, the Wish Pokémon. I'll use a wish on you. One wishes to gain complete control over one's abilities, to master one's power."
He held up the Luxury Ball, letting the light catch its polished surface. Darkrai paused. The mention of Jirachi, a Pokémon of legend, clearly gave it pause.
It had heard whispers of its power, the ability to grant any wish. Darkrai replied, baffled, 'A wish…?'
Azure continued, pressing his advantage on Darkrai, "You'll follow me, willingly. And I'll help you understand your power, refine it. No more being a pawn."
After a long, tense silence, a slow, grudging nod resonated in Azure's mind, '…Very well. I accept your… offer.'
Azure grinned, relief flooding through him. He turned to Green, who was staring at him with a mixture of awe and confusion as he asked, "Hey, Green, you want a wish?"
Green blinked, utterly taken aback, replying, surprised, "A… a wish? From Jirachi? Are you serious?"
Azure shrugged as he replied, being a helpful boyfriend to offer her one, "Yeah. I've got three. You can have one."
Green shook her head, a small smile playing on her lips as she replied, "No, thank you. I wouldn't steal a wish from you. You clearly have plans for it. And you've already helped me enough; I don't want to steal your hard-earned reward."
Azure smiled, appreciating her understanding. He released Jirachi from its Luxury Ball, materializing into mid-air.
*Pop*
The Wish Pokémon yawned, stretching languidly as it spoke telepathically to them, 'Oh, dear… woken me up, have you?'
Azure rubbed his head as he apologized to it, stating, "Sorry, Jirachi. But I need your help. I have three wishes to make."
Jirachi nodded, its third eye, a swirling vortex of cosmic energy, slowly opening. Azure gazed into the eye, focusing all his intent, all his desire.
Words began to form on a small slip of paper that materialized in Jirachi's hand. Wish Granted. The first wish, carefully worded, was for Darkrai. I wish for Darkrai to have COMPLETE control over the innate abilities it has, and to grant it full CONTROL over its power, unlocking its potential.
*FLASH*
A blinding flash of purplish light erupted from Darkrai's Poké Ball. The Pokémon materialized, enveloped in the same ethereal glow. Its single eye widened in shock. For the first time, it felt the constant, overwhelming urge to inflict nightmares… vanish.
It felt a surge of power, not chaotic and uncontrollable, but focused, precise, its own. Knowledge flooded its mind, a complete understanding of its abilities, its potential. As the light subsided, a new object materialized in Azure's hand – a dark, crystalline stone, pulsing with a sinister energy.
Azure's eyes widened as he thought, holding the Mega Stone in hand, 'The fuck?! DARKRAI HAS A MEGA STONE?!'
The [Darkranite]. A Mega Stone for Darkrai. He checked to be sure, and he wasn't disappointed in the slightest.

Darkrai stared at the stone, then at Azure, its expression unreadable. A slow, deliberate nod as it replied using its voice, "I… am in your debt."
It willingly returned to its Poké Ball, a silent promise of loyalty. Azure grinned, a genuine, triumphant grin.
[Darkrai has joined the party!]
He'd just gained a powerful ally, a Pokémon capable of incredible strength, and, more importantly, a Pokémon he could help. He quickly checked Darkrai's info and status, seeing its new strength.
[Darkrai the Pitch-Black/Bad Dreams Pokémon. Darkrai is known to "inhabit" dreams and causes the target to have unending nightmares, which can be stopped if exposed to a Lunar Feather from Cresselia. However, the "unleashing of nightmares" is a defense mechanism, instead of an intentionally malicious act.
Darkrai can fly at high speeds, and it can become a shadow to escape danger or contact with humans. It is also capable of some human speech and can manifest dark energy for offensive purposes. Darkrai not only causes nightmares, but it is also attracted to them somehow. It can also go around objects it is attracted to several times.
Darkrai can use an ability called "Dark Power" to either trap humans or Pokémon in a "Dark Void" dimension of total darkness or teleport them to another location. Darkrai is said to be active on nights of the new moon. Darkrai possibly feeds off dreams, characterized by its association with never-ending nightmares.
It possesses the power to create dream dimensions when enhanced with Mega Power, but it causes pain to Darkrai and results in the expansion of the created dimensions, as demonstrated in Hyperspace.
Darkrai has attempted to use Dark Void while it is asleep. It is theorized that Darkrai performs this move because it cannot contain its overflowing power. Darkrai can be lured through a combination of Drowsy Power and Cresselia. The Eureka Seed can bring out the full power of Darkrai.
Darkrai has been observed slumbering during the day of the New Moon. Darkrai is the only known Pokémon capable of learning and using the move Dark Void. It is also the only known Pokémon that can have Bad Dreams as an Ability.]

Reading the info provided, Azure's eyes widened briefly as he thought, 'So I got another Pokémon that doesn't have a Move limit, huh? Guess having its potential unlock meant other than its Mega Form, its move limit is gone. That's good to know.'
He looked at Green, his eyes shining with excitement as he stated, "Looks like I just got a powerful companion for our Sinnoh Journey."
But soon Azure made his second wish as he gazed into Jirachi's eye. Words began to form on a small slip of paper that materialized in Jirachi's hand. The second wish, carefully worded, was for Azure. I wish for myself to unlock my innate Aura and Psychic abilities, along with COMPLETE MASTERY over them.
*FLASH*
A flash of light enveloped Azure as Green, Pikachu, and Eevee shielded their eyes. Azure's eyes lit up with psychic energy, and a veil of aura ignited around him as both energies overflowed from him.
*THUMP*
But the overflowing energy suddenly receded into Azure's body as he exhaled, muttering, "Whew… so the sudden inflow of knowledge on how to use them came advanced. Not bad. These new abilities will come in handy."
Having control over his new abilities, Azure couldn't help but chuckle. And then he saw some pop-up screens detailing his new abilities.

Psychic Abilities:
-Telekinesis: The ability to move objects with her mind. Due to having Viridian Force, it has been enhanced with your natural Psychic abilities, enough to manipulate on par with a Lv 60 or Lower Psychic-type Pokémon.
-Telepathy: The ability to read minds and communicate with people or Pokémon without speaking.
Precognition: The ability to see glimpses of the future. Current limit: 5 Seconds.
Transmutation: The ability to transform objects, to a limited degree.
-Teleportation: The ability to instantly transport yourself and others from one place to another. Dependent on the user's natural ability.
Levitation: The ability to float in the air.

-Telepathy: The ability to read the minds and actions of another being.
-Aura Sense: The ability to sense other auras. Can also allow the user to see through some objects. To see and speak to the spirits of the dead. To allow the spirits of the dead the ability to touch the physical world.
-Aura Track: The ability to track an Aura belonging to a specific person if they have a piece of the Aura to track.
-Aura Protection: Ability to prevent mind control of itself and those around it.
-Aura Manipulation: Projection of one's Aura, such as to create barriers or attacks. It can also be used to transfer Aura to others, a method that can be fatal to the user.
-Activation of time flowers.
-When in sync with the Trainer and by invoking the bonds with its friends, a Pokémon can use its Aura to supercharge an Aura Sphere to a gigantic size.
-When used in conjunction with a Key Stone, Aura allows a Trainer and their Pokémon to: Locate the matching Mega Stone even from miles away. Create a telepathic vision in which they can feel each other and anyone inside the other's Aura from far away.

Azure smiled, seeing the info he received. But he remembered he still had 1 last wish left to make. And it was one he had in mind. Finally, he turned to his last wish as he stated, "For my final wish… I want a Pokémon Egg with limitless potential with its own Z-Crystal that only it can use, along with the knowledge of how to raise and perform its Z-Move. One that only I know what's inside."
Jirachi yawned again, its third eye dimming slightly…
*Flash*
In a flash of light, it produced a small, pink Pokémon Egg, its shell shimmering with an otherworldly glow, along with a Z-Crystal, which it could use. Azure's eyes flashed a pink light, gaining knowledge of how to use the Z-Move dance.
Then, with another yawn, Jirachi returned to its slumber as Azure recalled it into its Luxury Ball. Green's eyes were wide with curiosity as she couldn't help but ask, "What did you wish for? What's inside the Egg?"
Pikachu and Eevee, sensing something special, nudged the Egg with their paws. Azure smirked, a mischievous glint in his eyes.
*CRACK*
Then, the Egg began to crack. A brilliant light erupted, forcing Green to shield her eyes. When the light subsided, a small, pink Pokémon floated gently in the air, its large, blue eyes sparkling with intelligence and joy, "Mew…"
It was Mew.
The Mythical Pokémon imprinted on Azure instantly, nuzzling against his cheek and chirping happily. Azure chuckled, pulling a container of Moomoo Milk from his bag and offering it to the tiny Pokémon.
Green stared, speechless. The realization dawned on her, slowly but surely. Azure hadn't just wished for a Pokémon Egg…
He'd wished for a Mew.
She stammered, her voice barely a whisper, "You… you wished for a Mew?"
Azure smiled, cradling the Mythical Pokémon in his arms as he said, "Just a little something to spice things up."
He enjoyed seeing the shocked expression on Green's face. And turning to the childish Mew Azure, checked its status and info.
[Mew the New Species Pokémon. Mew has shown a playful, childish personality, showing signs of high intelligence, curiosity, shyness, playfulness, and even selflessness. It is said to have the DNA of every single Pokémon contained within its body. This causes many scientists to theorize that Mew is the ancestor of all Pokémon.
It is an incredibly adaptable species, capable of levitation and teleportation. It can use almost all known moves, regardless of their types. It has also shown the rare power to transform into all known Pokémon. It can make itself invisible at will, so it entirely avoids notice even if it approaches people.
As seen on several occasions, it can create an orb of energy around itself for protection, which can come in many colors, such as green, yellow, and pink. According to journals found in Kanto's Pokémon Mansion, Mr. Fuji is the one who discovered Mew deep in the jungle and coined its name.
With other scientists, he managed to gather some of Mew's DNA and used it in his mansion to create a modified clone of it, aiming to be the most powerful Pokémon of all, which resulted in the birth of the Legendary Pokémon Mewtwo. Since Mew can make itself invisible, very few people have seen it, leading some scientists to declare it extinct and most to assume it to be nothing but a mirage.
However, sightings of it are still being reported to this day, confirming its existence. Even though it's rarely seen, it will willingly show itself to a person who is pure of heart and has a strong desire to see it.
It was worshiped for its protection by ancient people who created a song in its honor and believed it appeared once a year with the rising sun. It wasn't rediscovered until 18 years after Miyamoto met Mew by sunrise on the peak of a high mountain. It can split itself up and transform into more than one Pokémon at the same time.]

And with Darkrai and Mew by his side, he was ready for anything. The Battle Frontier was just the beginning. Sinnoh awaited. And Azure Sky, the boy from another world, was ready to conquer it all.
