Lin Chu walked out of the detention center and saw Wanxia waiting for her in the shade from a distance, with a pink little figure beside her.
She almost dashed over.
"Hey, long time no see, my fake bestie."
When Lin Chu was still dazed, Wanxia had already noticed her from the corner of her eye, so she wasn't startled when Lin Chu bear-hugged her.
Instinctively, she shifted a bit to the side, worried that Pea, who was as fragile as it seemed, would fall victim unintentionally.
Lin Chu finally let go of Wanxia, "When did you come back? Why didn't you come to see me?"
Wanxia ignored Lin Chu's intentionally feigned sadness and calmly replied, "Not even twenty days ago, and you're not dying, so what's there to see?"
Hearing her words, Lin Chu nodded in agreement, indeed nothing much to see behind iron bars.
Lin Chu squatted down, gently looking at Pea. She really wanted to give a hug, but she felt unclean and didn't want to harm the little girl.
"Good girl, call me godmother."
