After a busy night, Isabella Weaver got off work at six in the morning.
She went to the garage with her bag and saw Harry Hunter's car still parked there as it was, showing no signs of having been driven.
Could he really not want this car anymore?
So wasteful!
Isabella shook her head and walked toward her parking spot.
"Isabella!"
A familiar voice called out, freezing Isabella in place.
Milo Field, looking radiant and smiling, walked over: "I knew I could find you here. Why didn't you answer my calls? I was worried about you."
Isabella's gaze was cold and detached. She couldn't comprehend how, after hooking up with her best friend, Milo acted as if nothing had happened!
If he had a shred of shame, he wouldn't dare show his face in front of her again!
"Isabella, Gilly said you're working here, and I didn't believe it. Is it true? Isn't your family... Why do they let you work so hard? You should be enjoying life, look at you, your fingers have become coarse."
Isabella's face suddenly changed color, and she felt a massive puzzle in her heart was about to be solved!
Her teeth quivered slightly as she asked, "What is my family? You know my family?"
Milo's smile grew even more gentle: "Are you still trying to hide it from me? Christopher Weaver, the Watch King, is your father; I've known for a long time. You're so low-key, coming here to work part-time. You're truly the wonderful girl I love!"
Isabella clearly heard, and something inside her completely shattered.
When she saw Milo with someone else, it wasn't unbearable because she had somewhat expected it; after all, men changing their hearts is common.
But now, she finally understood that the gentle man before her claiming to love her was a lie from start to finish, an answer Isabella never imagined.
All the illogical things now had a rational explanation.
No wonder the dazzling campus heartthrob would pursue someone as invisible as her, no wonder the adored idol would treat her with such courtesy and care, no wonder he accepted the car worth over a million so calmly!
Isabella took a while to suppress her swirling emotions, and said expressionlessly, "I don't know any Christopher Weaver, and I have no money. You needn't waste your efforts on me."
"Isabella, are you still angry about yesterday's incident?"
Milo tried to grab Isabella's hand but she disgustedly avoided it.
He wasn't angry, nor did he take Isabella's denial seriously; he just smiled gently: "Okay, don't be childish. Won't you accept my apology? Yesterday, I acted on impulse with Gilly... but it won't happen again, I promise you. I really only like you, Gilly's just my good friend."
Isabella's body trembled slightly. Was he even speaking like a human? Why did he trivialize infidelity like that? Did he think she was throwing a childish tantrum?
"Milo Field, get lost, I've already broken up with you!"
"Stop making a fuss, it's all minor stuff. I've been busy with important things these days, signed with the TV station, need a car for commuting, just give me the keys!"
Isabella's broken heart was once again ruthlessly crushed.
So he wasn't here to apologize at all, he was here for the car!
She forced a word from her teeth: "Leave."
