Iris Harris thought, what could I possibly think?
Brandan Hyde stood facing her, slightly bowing his head. His dark eyes seemed to hold starlight, black and bright, reflecting her face.
After looking at her for a while, he suddenly let out a deep laugh, reached out, and embraced her, pulling her into his arms.
Iris was momentarily startled and quickly stepped back, wanting to break free from him. Yet Brandan refused to let go, and they ended up rolling onto the bed.
Iris was terrified, afraid he still wanted to do something to her, she shouted hoarsely, "Brandan!"
"I like you," he held her tightly, "truly."
"That's your business!" Iris exclaimed, "Let me go, Brandan!"
That's why she's always hurt by others.
Brandan closed his eyes, feeling reluctant, but he had no choice but to relent.
If he could go back to the past, he would surely treat her better, so that in the future, even if she met Caleb Hyde, she would at least remember him fondly, right?
