Iris Harris blinked slightly, bent down to pour a glass of water from the coffee table, took a sip, and then gently smiled: "Auntie, why would you ask that?"
"Brandan said..." Lady Hyde shook her head, "Just be honest with me, you're not sick, are you?"
"No." Iris maintained a calm smile, the steam from the tea mingling in her eyes, making her smile seem somewhat indifferent, "I'm fine, Auntie."
What's the point of telling others? Besides unnecessary pity, it only adds to their sadness.
She slowly finished a cup of hot water, feeling as if her stomach had warmed up as well. Iris leaned back on the sofa, looking at the sunset outside the door, her expression very serene.

Brandan Hyde might know something, might have discovered something, but Iris didn't care.
He didn't come to ask her, only occasionally looking at her with eyes that seemed to be probing.
Yet, all of this was bearable, Iris did not find it unbearable.
