Chapter 2 - Chapter 002: If the dean heard what you said, he would probably be furious.

Chen Zheng didn't say anything more and nodded to signal the nurse next to him to start the surgery.

After almost an hour and a half of surgery, the nurse pushed the patient out of the operating room, and Chen Zheng helped Han Xi up: "Go rest for a bit. You just lost so much blood, I'll have breakfast sent to your office."

Han Xi rubbed her temples and took a light breath: "I'm fine. There are so many people injured outside, we should hurry and take a look. The emergency room must be overwhelmed."

"You just finished surgery at 2 AM last night, and now you've lost so much blood again. Are you trying to exhaust yourself to death?" Chen Zheng's brows were furrowed so tightly they could catch a fly.

Han Xi pulled down the sleeves that were rolled up to her elbows, got off the operating table, and patted his shoulder helplessly: "No one's going to get exhausted to death. If the director hears that, he might get furious."

After saying that, Han Xi had already walked out of the operating room, and Chen Zheng took off his sterile gown and followed her out.

.....

Now, the emergency room was not only filled with patients and medical staff but also a lot of patients' family members. The crowd was truly indescribable, but thankfully, the hospital had already arranged designated personnel to maintain order.

"Doctor Han, Doctor Chen, come quickly and check on this young girl. She was fine just now, but now she started vomiting and convulsing." The nurse was anxious and at a loss.

Han Xi walked over and held down the young girl lying on the ground: "Quickly, get her a brain CT. If it's an intracranial hemorrhage, we need to arrange surgery immediately. Go quickly."

"Oh, okay." The nurse responded and then turned to push the surgical cart.

"Leave this to me. Go check on the other patients." Han Xi was holding down the convulsing young girl firmly; she didn't look up, but her words were directed at Chen Zheng.

"Alright."

The nurse brought the surgical cart, and the two lifted the young girl onto it and entered the elevator. After completing the brain CT, it was confirmed to be an intracranial hemorrhage.

Now, the young girl was no longer vomiting or convulsing, but was groggily crying out in pain.

Han Xi held her hand, pulled out her phone from the pocket of her white coat with the other hand, and after asking if there was an available operating room, she turned to the nurse next to her: "Push her to the operating room first, I'll go prepare."

"Okay, Doctor Han."

......

After nearly four hours of surgery, Han Xi performed it successfully. Such a craniotomy was quite easy for her, but now she felt utterly exhausted, her steps felt like treading on soft cotton.

"Keep a close watch on her postoperative condition, let me know if there's anything." Han Xi instructed the nurse beside her while removing her sterile gown.

"Got it, Doctor Han. Do you want to rest for a bit? You look pale."

During the surgery, the nurse had already noticed her complexion was not looking good, drained of all color.

Han Xi nodded and then walked out of the operating room.

Han Xi went to the emergency room for a quick look; the critically injured patients had all been operated on, and the rest weren't considered severe. She raised her hand to rub her drowsy head and turned to get into the elevator.

Back in the office, Han Xi threw herself onto the sofa and closed her eyes, falling asleep.

She was truly exhausted. She finished surgery at 2 AM last night, just performed another four-hour craniotomy, and even gave so much blood to the patient, even someone made of iron couldn't endure it.

In a daze, not knowing how long she slept, the phone in her pocket started ringing. Han Xi frowned, fished out her phone, and tapped several times on the constantly flashing screen before picking up.
