Eun-ji faced Soo Min-ji with shock, with her mouth wide open, and her eyes popping wide.
"Are you-- being real? You are not lying?"
She closed her eyes, exhaling deeply, "Does he look so human to you?" She tilted her head a little to the side, "Hm?"
Eun-ji balled her hands into fists, "I.. he is.. but he looks.."
"He does I know, but he isn't. You should look at him more closely, or better still ask him maybe."
Eun-ji looked at the ground, her head spinning with thoughts, "Oh. He does seem nice," she spoke softly.
"He is," Min-ji rubbed her temples.
"I don't.. know what to say," she gulped down hard.
Soo Min-ji gave her a puzzled look. Did she like Heuk Jin already? Without even knowing who he was in and out? That was off..
"Thanks for telling me anyway," Eun-ji looked away, fiddling with her sweaty palms.
"Hm.."
There was a moment of silence. No one said anything to each other for the next few minutes, it was again another torturing silence. There were no birds chirping, no distant groans heard from a stone's throw, not even their breaths could be heard at this point.
The aftermath of the apocalypse was terrible.
"You like him, don't you?" Soo Min-ji broke the silence looking ahead of her.
Eun-ji was a bit taken aback. Her hands trembled slightly even though she tried to hide them by shoving it under her shirt.
"What are you talking about?"
Heuk Jin. You like him, I can feel it already."
Eun-ji chuckled nervously, a thin sheen of sweat made its way to her forehead.
"Of course not," she hung her head, hoping her hair would hide her reddened cheeks.
"It's okay. Yoh don't have to lie. I can feel, and see it. It's not your fault anyways," Min-ji shrugged her shoulders.
She peeked out of her hair, "Don't you?"
"What?"
"You don't like him?"
She immediately clasped her hands together, "No way. He is an undead... There's no way.. no way that could happen."
"So you don't mind if I make my advances then?"
Soo Min-ji felt a pang in her chest at those words. It felt so hurting, she thought it was actually twisting out her valves in her heart. She sucked in some air, then fanned her flushed face with her palms.
"I don't.. mind, you can go on. I mean he is just my partner in this world building of a thing. Nothing serious."
Eun-ji closed her eyes, feeling the blush creep back to her face. She secretly celebrated by clenching her fists, bopping it up and down.
"Thank you so much ... Err."
"Soo Min-ji," she helped her complete the sentence.
"Thank you Min-ji. I really appreciate this," she cupped her cheeks, trying to cool them with her cold palms.
"You don't mind he's a zombie?"
Eun-ji exhaled, "I don't mind at all. He is better off most of the living humans anyways."
She huddled her knees close to her face again, "Good for you," she muttered.
"Is something wrong?" Eun-ji glanced at her.
"Naah. I'm good," she got to her knees, "I have some tasks to complete. See you later."
She quickly turned on her heels before Eun-ji could respond. Quickening her pace, she hurried off to the opposite direction.
When she was sure she was not anywhere close to Eun-ji, she exhaled deeply.
"I guess you just have to get your mind off him," she told herself.
"Aegenesis," she muttered.
[Beep!]
"Do I have any other tasks or daily quests? I have to take my mind off him."
[There are no daily tasks for today!]
"What about quests?"
[No quests for today either!]
She twisted her lips, biting on her lower lip.
'So am I supposed to stand here and just watch events unfold?'
[You could try starting some basic infrastructure.]
She arched her brows, "Basic infrastructure like?"
[A city wall]
She placed her hands behind her back, "A city wall huh? That would be impossible for just me alone to raise!"
[You won't be the only one building.]
She hung her head, "Tch."
[Preparing blueprint]
[-----67%]
She just watched the screen scanning with an unbothered face, her right foot impatiently tapping the ground. While Aegenesis was going on with the scanning process, her thoughts drifted back to Eun-ji.
Did she really likelike Heuk Jin? Why? She hadn't even lasted her for a whole day!
She scoffed, rolling her eyes hard, "I just hope she's not a pick me girl," she crossed her arms across her chest.
'Are you jealous?'
She flattened her lips, her brows creasing into a deep frown, "Of course not!" She suddenly snapped.
[City wall's Blueprint prepared.]
On the screen's interface was the blueprint of a city wall, the thickness about 10 CM, it's recommended height about thirty feet.
She rubbed her chin, "This is nice, but where will I get stone blocks for this?"
[The basic materials for the stone blocks would be materialized, but host would have to commence on the manual labour.]
She balled her hands into her fists, "This should be good. With Huek Jin's help, I would be able to build this in no time," she slightly cracked her fingers.
"Let's do this!"
An interface appeared, displaying the items for the preparation of the stone blocks; Granite, Gravel, and lime powder.]
She grinned at the screen, "This is finally falling into place," she let out a satisfied sigh, "I can build a new world from the scratch, free from pain and..."
[One special material needed to finish it off.]
Her smile froze, then slowly disappeared, "What is it now?"
[A Level 5 zombie crystal core.]
She scratched the back of her head, her heart racing.
"A level five zombie core? What the actual heck? I'm not even done with dealing with level three zombies let alone level five!"
[This is why you have to complete your tasks and quests so you can grow stronger!]
Her eyes twitched as she read the words on the screen.
'I have to wait to keep leveling up before I build a city wall?!'
She scrunched up her nose, "You infuriate me sometimes," she looked away, her head already pounding hard with rage.
