Daisy Ginger's face turned even redder.
She refused to admit, "Nonsense."
"Heh." The man let out a low chuckle, commenting, "Saying one thing and meaning another."
Daisy couldn't stand it, she slipped out from his embrace, straddled his waist, and fervently gripped the man's shoulders with her slender fingers, shaking him, "Stop babbling! Give me back the ring!"
The man chuckled a couple of times, seeing her dodge the issue, and didn't pursue it further.
He grasped Daisy's fingers, squeezing them tightly in his palm. Daisy was momentarily stunned, wanting to pull her hand away, when in the next second, she felt something cool and solid being slowly slipped onto her ring finger.
In her heart, something seemed to be just as restrained as that circle on her ring finger. Daisy took a gentle breath, and for a moment, her heart skipped a beat.
She looked toward Edward Stephens, and the man was also looking at her, his delicate features serious, his gaze deep and solemn.
