After sending the message all in one go, Daisy Ginger let out a slow breath.
Had she made herself clear enough?
Staring at her phone screen for a while, Daisy saw that Michael Joyner hadn't responded yet, probably because he hadn't seen it in time. She set her phone aside and continued to play with stocks.
It was close to noon when she finally rubbed her sore eyes and shut down her computer.
Standing up from her office chair, she idly picked up the phone from the sofa and saw a reply from Michael Joyner on the screen.
Opening the message, Daisy's expression turned dark immediately.
"I don't mind that you like someone else. I can be better than him!"
The young man's stubborn enthusiasm left Daisy, this old auntie, feeling quite troubled.
With her fair fingertips, she tapped out a few words but then felt they weren't appropriate and deleted them, sitting on the sofa frustrated.
To speak truthfully, she hadn't had many chances to reject others in her life.
