Daisy Ginger slowly turned around and saw the man she hadn't seen in over two months.
He might have just come back from the supermarket, his hands full of bags with food and vegetables. Upon seeing her, his facial expression slightly softened.
The white girl in pajamas let out a soft cry and ran out of the house, enthusiastically taking the food bags from Edward Stephens and gestured towards Daisy.
Edward nodded at her, "Go inside. It's an acquaintance."
The white girl, called Irene, was like a tireless little bird. She smiled lightly, lifted her skirt, and went inside from the doorway. Edward walked over and nodded at Daisy Ginger, "Let's talk inside. Hmm?"
"..." Daisy was torn between going in and staying out.
Edward seemed to have noticed her hesitation and gently said, "Irene is the landlord's daughter. I hired her to help with cleaning and cooking."
"...I don't really care about that."
