On the way back, Robert Stephens called.
His warm male voice was deep and pleasant, like the sound of a fine cello, slowly flowing through the phone.
"Emma, are you okay?"
Emma Magus had originally calmed her anger, but upon hearing Robert Stephens' voice, she didn't know why, a wave of grievance suddenly surged up from her heart.
She said softly, "Brother Stephens..."
The grievance rendered her speechless.
"I'm here."
"I'm fine." She sniffed, swallowed the grievance, not wanting this gentle man to worry about her, "Thomas Woods is driving me home, I'm in the car right now."
Robert Stephens responded softly, "Okay, be careful on your way."
His gentle whisper, like a spring breeze, left Emma Magus in a daze for a long time even after she hung up the phone.
The evening breeze blew in from the window, and she suddenly felt a bit cold. She subconsciously looked up and saw her slightly flushed cheeks in the rearview mirror.
