Daisy Ginger instinctively closed her eyes.
"Slap!"
A gust of wind and the sound of flesh meeting flesh echoed by her ears.
However, the expected pain didn't arrive. Daisy suddenly turned her head and saw Edward Stephens holding onto Robert Stephens's wrist. Somehow, the man had clenched a black-bladed dagger in his hand, and the blade tip had almost grazed her arterial blood vessel.
"Brother, Daisy is my wife now. Doing this right in front of me doesn't seem right, does it?"
Robert's face was taut. He looked at Edward without saying a word.
That composed face rarely showed a hint of losing control.
Daisy lifted her eyes to look at Edward's expression. He was still staring at Robert, but seemed to have calmed down, the pallor of his face gradually faded, leaving only the usual pale complexion.
He lowered his head, his dark ink-like eyes glanced at her, then turned away, addressing Charlotte inside the room: "Change your clothes and come out so we can talk."
