The atmosphere was tense for a moment. Seeing that the situation was not good, Maya Spencer hurriedly put the contract on the nightstand and said with a forced smile, "It's okay, if it's inconvenient for you, Liam, then forget it."
She had thought she could strike while the iron was hot, but unexpectedly, he was still unhappy.
So she hurriedly withdrew the contract. This wasn't her own matter, and she wouldn't do something stupid that would implicate herself for others.
The man looked at her forced smile, watched her climb off of him, and with a big hand, he wrapped his arm around her waist, pulling her back onto his body.
For a moment, Maya panicked. She thought to herself, what a mess of emotions; she had just managed to calm him down, and now he was worked up again. Had she known, she would have stayed out of the contract business altogether.
Thus, she smiled and added, "Liam, we'll drop it, no signing the contract."
