No one knew how long she had cried in his arms. Asher Land felt the front of his shirt soaked through with her tears.
Seeing her stop crying, he finally reached out, gently pushed her away, maintaining a distance of two fists between them.
Irene Morton raised her eyes, now red and swollen from crying, and looked at him pitifully.
"Brother Asher, what they're saying is false, right? You're not really marrying Sister Sophie, are you?" Irene would rather deceive herself into thinking it was Sophie Smith exploiting the opportunity for attention. After all, when Asher Land hadn't yet returned to Eastern City, Sophie had once declared at her own press conference to return to the entertainment circle that Asher was her boyfriend. Now she emerged alone, proclaiming that she and Asher were getting married. So, in Irene's heart, she firmly believed this must be Sophie's wishful thinking.
Asher Land hesitated for two seconds before speaking calmly.
