He put down his bowl and chopsticks, pulled out the chair, and prepared to go upstairs.
As a reflex, Irene Morton blocked his way.
"If you have something to say, let's talk in the room." He didn't want to argue with Irene in front of Sophie Smith; he could never control what Irene might say next, and some words could definitely hurt Sophie.
"Go back to the room?" Irene deliberately curved her lips into an innocent smile, pretending to look pitiful, "Brother Asher, are you going to assault me again?"
Irene spoke without thinking, purposefully distorting the facts.
Assault?
Sophie looked up, casting a glance at Asher Land, only to see his expression growing increasingly unpleasant.
"Watch what you say, have I ever touched you?" Asher Land really couldn't handle Irene; he had always treated her like a sister since childhood. Even when she went too far, he never completely rejected her. But now, Irene insisted on damaging their relationship.
