Nanny Garcia thought of this, and couldn't help feeling a bit sad.
She took Alexander upstairs. Alexander was very obedient; he didn't need to be coaxed to sleep, wasn't afraid of the dark, and was very brave. As soon as he was tucked in, he started sleeping.
Nanny Garcia turned off the lights and quietly left the room.
Returning to the living room, she saw Sophie Smith sitting on the sofa, holding a glass of clear water in both hands, her gaze lost in some unknown place.
Nanny Garcia sighed softly and walked over.
"Miss Smith, it's so late, why are you still not resting?"
"Oh, it's nothing… Anyway, I can't sleep right now."
She had a habit of insomnia; night after night, she just couldn't close her eyes. She preferred staying awake enduring one black night after another than to fall asleep into a mind full of nightmares.
"Still no news of the young master?"
Nanny Garcia hesitated but couldn't help asking the question.
