Sophie Smith followed Asher Land all the way to the master bedroom, softly closing the door behind her.
"Where have you been for this past week?" he suddenly asked in a deep voice.
"At the company."
There was a sense of inexplicable anger in Asher's heart; he knew that if he hadn't sought her out, she wouldn't have returned on her own.
Sophie could naturally see that he was in a bad mood, and she felt it was necessary to talk to him about certain things.
"I want to move out of here," she said, enunciating each word.
"Say it again," he said, his face tense. Undoubtedly, Sophie's words had angered him.
Given the situation, she hadn't bothered to properly explain why she didn't want to stay with the Land Family and yet was saying such things about leaving. What kind of madness was she expressing?
"I want to move out of here," she reiterated.
"Impossible," he said decisively.
