"Mr. Land, Miss Morton is awake!" The caretaker ran over and said to Asher Land in surprise.
Without a word, he stood up and strode towards the ward, with Sophie Smith following closely behind.
The ward was filled with a strong medicinal smell, and as Sophie entered, Irene's gaze happened to land on her.
"Irene, are you feeling any better?" Sophie asked with concern.
Irene seemed unwilling to see her, and turned her head away indifferently.
Sophie stood there, feeling a bit awkward.
"Irene, Sophie came specifically to see you, why are you acting like this?"
Asher Land's tone was like an adult scolding a child. He couldn't quite understand why Irene's attitude towards Sophie had taken such an abrupt 360-degree turn.
