My feet stumble messily down the shabby dirt road.

Clutching my forehead tightly, I sway side to side while trying to balance.

Everything around me is spinning, as if the world were thrown on its side.

A low growl escapes my throat as my grip starts to cause pain.

"My head is killing me…"

Teeth clatter together as my head roars out.

"I need to—"

Not from my grip but from within, pain quickly comes in bursts which stop for a second before beginning over and over again.

"—H-hurry!"

Regardless of the pain, I attempt to increase my staggering pace.

The sun was still high in the sky, but the shining light wouldn't last for much longer.

My hand ceased its deathly grip on my forehead. Instead it began beating on my torso in an attempt to distract me from the beating agony inside my head.

"Faster…"

Inhaling sharply, I plant my feet firmly against the dirt while reading myself. A ring of dust blew behind me as my pace increased significantly.

Trying my best to ignore the surging feeling within my mind, my feet continue to pick up pace.

I fall to the floor.

Clicking my tongue and biting down on my teeth harder, I quickly recover and continue running.

"Stupid legs… WAKE UP!"

Clearly not hearing me, they collapse once more.

"We need to hurry…"

Dragging myself up yet again, I stop for a moment to rub my temple softly and allow my legs time to recover.

"This is… Horrible! I hate this…"

Wobbling over to a tree, I collapse voluntarily.

My back presses against it for support as I gaze down at my legs.

"I'm not hungry…"

"I'm not tired…

"I'm not thirsty…"

"Why won't you move…?"

Sulking against the trunk of the tree, I continue rubbing my temple.

Doing this seemed to at least ease the pain slightly, though I still recoil in discomfort occasionally.

This pain in my head had been eating away at my sanity since the moment I awoke however that was the only pain I was feeling.

Each step I had taken down the dusty path seemed to cause the pain to subside, even if it was unnoticeable at first.

It acted as a pulling force, towards what though I didn't know.

Not a single injury nor scar covered my body.

Not even a speck of dirt

"Those blades should've left something behind…"

A low growl rumbles out of my throat as the pain grows stronger as if telling me to hurry up.

"Fine!"

Despite my legs still feeling weak, I stand and continue trudging forward.

Anger swells inside me, derived from the pain circulating around my head.

Walking doesn't seem to be an issue for the time being, but I don't believe running at the speed I was earlier is a viable option.

"Where the hell am I going…?"

I didn't bother asking Jacques anything. The pain was unbearable in Domremy, and I had to get out before it drove me to insanity.

Everything around me seems silent.

There's no wind blowing the trees nor any animals galloping around to distract me from this agonizing feeling.

My hands clutch the exposed skin on my chest.

When I awoke, all I had was a pair of loose undergarments held up by a tight-fit belt.

"Should've asked for a shirt… Or a weapon…"

Anything would've been better than nothing.

I'm mindlessly spiraling towards an unknown location for an unknown purpose, yet this is seemingly what I'm being forced to do.

Every rock I step on sinks deep into my skin, a welcomed distraction from my head.

Continuing on, the eerie silence causes me to ramble on and on in my mind about nothing in particular.

The trees are nice.

I wonder how Jeanne is doing?

The sun is pretty… Sunny.

She'll probably be mad I wandered off when I get back.

Jeez, my head hurts.

Were the trees always so green?

Is she worried?

Who am I?

Being alone is so…

"Boring…"

A sigh leaks from my lips.

"What am I supposed to think about when I have no memories, no experiences, and no real thoughts?"

I don't like being alone.

I'm not sure what I like to be fair, but being alone definitely isn't something I'm growing accustomed to.

Fighting?

"No… I didn't enjoy that, but it was better than this."

Farming?

"Farming was alright, and it helped pass the time. I also got to learn something."

Learning is fun, right?

"I'm learning right now, aren't I? I'm learning that loneliness isn't fun…"

I want to be with people.

"Talking to myself is fun… It makes the pain subside so that's good."

Unconsciously, I'd let go of my chest and left my hands swaying as I walked.

"I wonder what she likes?"

She was cheerful.

Being around her felt better than this.

Being around anyone felt better than this.

No longer was my head continuously pummeling itself with pain, instead the pain was softer and less frequent. It felt more like a slight reminder to press on.

"My legs feel better. That's good."

I should apologize when I get back to Domremy.

"I probably scared Jacques…"

That fear was different from the fear I'd seen before.

"The soldiers…"

Up until they could no longer control their bodies, their eyes were filled with something besides fear.

"Oh yeah…"

How many had I killed?

Did they deserve to die?

"I really need to find people. Talking to myself like this feels weird."

Nothing else I can do though, right?

That sharp pain returns, causing me to wobble and collapse onto my knees.

"A-AHHK-…!"

Desperately clawing at my head, I shake back and forth trying to make the pain go away.

"W-WHY!?"

Quickly, my legs push up and start moving hastily down the path while I continue clutching my skin.

"I'M GOING, I'M GOING!"

Why did it come back?

Minutes pass as the pain refuses to go away.

Mind churning, my feet violently kick dust up as I burst forward in rough, reckless, strides.

The bushes on my side blow forward from the wind moving from my speed.

Without warning, I instinctively jump high into the air, far above the trees and land dozens of yards ahead.

Another jump, and then another one after that.

Each jump propelled me farther and farther into the tree line until loud screaming began to fade into my ears.

"Ghhk-… Is this it!?"

Pain was still booming in my head as I glided forward.

"They aren't screaming…"

One final jump sent me shooting hundreds of yards forward.

"They're chanting!"

A giant crater, easily a few people's worth in length, formed as I collided with the ground.

Air bursted out from my impact, causing multiple people to stumble backwards onto their bottoms.

"Ghhk-… HELP… ME!"

Crying out, my voice grows hoarse and desperate for aid as the pain in my temple stabs at my nerves harder than ever before.

Red and white crosses are the only thing I can discernibly make out as my vision turns foggy.

"HELP ME!"

What's happening to me?

I reel back in agony as blood begins to leak from my forehead. The tips of my fingers coat themselves in that warm blood as they continue digging into my skin.

Why am I here!?

"Surround him!"

Multiple soldiers flock around me, their weapons drawn and ready to thrust forward at a moment's notice.

I opened my mouth to speak, but the pain searing inside me caused my teeth to clench down which clips my tongue and causes it to bleed.

"How did you find us?"

Someone calls out calmly to me past the group of soldiers surrounding my immediate area.

When no reply comes one of the soldiers gently jabs my side, causing blood to trickle down my waist.

Legs buckle underneath an unknown weight as the anguish overtakes me.

Completely ignoring the men standing around, my knees dig into the grass as my head slams down against the ground.

I whimper softly as everything around me grows faint.

Everything except the soldiers.

The terrarian seems to darken, yet the bodies of the soldiers grow brighter.

"He won't speak, kill him. We can't let anyone know we're coming."

Small black particles leak from each of the soldiers' bodies. They're more dense than smoke and as black the night sky.

The particles from a soldier with a spear lurch forward in a straight line towards my head a moment before his spear follows that same line.

Weaving my head to the side, another line of black runs towards the back of my neck.

Like an animal, I push off the ground and leap forward.

My sword cuts along the man's neck as my footsteps on the tip of his spear.

"What the hell!? Get him!"

Turning around quickly, multiple lines of darkness flood towards different parts of my body before the person the particles had belonged to follow their movement.

Due to the deceased man letting go of the spear, each of those lines fall just too high over my head as I fall.

The ground collides with my back as I roll backwards and then recover.

"You're trained soldiers, KILL HIM!"

My face still leaks blood, but the pain in my head seems to be subsiding, who knows for how long though.

A sword slashes at my back.

The cut runs hollow, not enough to cause lasting damage, but the slash causes me to recoil forward and tank another slash at my waist.

Shooting open, my eyes hurriedly look up as a line of black aims for my temple.

My blade quickly rises to block the oncoming sword, but out of the corner of my eye another line spirals towards my chest.

With my right foot, I push off the ground which sends my lying body away a few feet out of danger.

With both my arms combining their strength, my blade meets the soldier's just before it reaches me as a loud clash causes my ears to ring out painfully.
