đ know I said I'd had a love life that was drier than a desert in my past life.
That didn't mean I wasn't a huge fan of romance. In fact, you could say I was the biggest simp for itâas long as the said romance didn't include me in any way.
My own love life? Crusty heaving sounds.
Other people's love lives? Bring the popcorn and bring it now.
I never minded being that one lonely, unloved cat lady. Who had time to waste crying over the absence of a partner when I had an endless bundle of romance novels to keep me company, twenty-four-seven?
And no, I was not coping. Or trying to console myself. I much preferred to gush over the romance of people who didn't exist than let anyone into my personal space.
Naturally, when my peers would go on date nights, socializing and meeting their next person to hump and be pampered by, I'd be curled under my bedcovers, lost in the pages of my new favorite couple's love affair.
