Just in case—not wanting to stick to one route, one that might turn out to be quite drastic for her—Clara stood up and headed to King Jared's room.
She knocked before striding in the moment she heard him call out for her to enter.
Closing the door behind her with a smile on her face, she noticed King Jared furrow his brow as he fixed his gaze on her.
"I'm surprised that you decided to grace me with your presence," he said with a hint of humor in his tone.
"Is there something you'd like to discuss with me?" he asked, having taken off his cloak to reveal the space where his left arm should have been.
He still looked as dangerously handsome as the first time she had seen him. Clara fixed her gaze on him as she slowly began to strip, taking off the band that held her dress together before reaching to touch the zipper. Her intent was obvious on her face even as King Jared's expression darkened when he heard her speak.
