The Pidgeot was colossal—its wingspan seemed wide enough to blanket the entire battlefield. Its golden-feathered plumage shimmered under the sunlight, radiating an overwhelming presence.
The watching citizens gasped in unison, tilting their heads back to gape at the massive Pidgeot, eyes filled with shock and awe.
"Wha… what kind of Pokémon is that? How can it be so big?!"
"I think… it's a Pidgeot?"
"I've never seen a Pidgeot this huge!"
Even Yas was stunned by the sight before him, his heart involuntarily trembling.
He had never seen a Pidgeot of such magnitude. His mind raced.
How the hell did this guy raise such a giant Pidgeot?
Did he use some special training method?
Or… was it another gift from his family elders?
Who exactly is this guy? Could he be from some powerful clan?
Every one of his Pokémon is so bizarre!
Though anxiety stirred in his heart, Yas forced himself to maintain a calm exterior. With a cold sneer, he scoffed disdainfully.
"Hmph, Kazuki, raising Pokémon isn't about size!"
"This isn't pig farming—what's the point of raising it that big?"
"Pidgeot's strength lies in its speed and agility! Yours is so bulky, you've clearly ruined its speed advantage and just packed on dead weight!"
Kazuki chuckled. "Frog in a well. Even the girls at my Gym know more than you."
"Huh? Was Kazuki praising me just now?" Misty blinked and looked at Suzie for confirmation.
Suzie smiled and nodded.
Misty immediately jumped up in excitement, cheering for Kazuki with pride.
Kazuki shot a glance at his thrilled girlfriend and then turned to command his Pidgeot.
"Pidgeot, show him your power!"
Pidgeot let out a sharp, resonating cry that made the very air tremble.
With a single flap of its enormous wings, a violent gust surged across the field, blowing Yas's hair into a frenzy and forcing his Scyther to take a few steps back.
Yas's heart clenched at the sight, but he held his ground, insisting, "Hmph, just a bluff!"
"Scyther, go! Use X-Scissor!"
Scyther immediately flitted into the air, its twin blades crossed and gleaming in the sunlight as it dove straight toward Pidgeot's vital points.
Scyther was fast—its blade arms glinted coldly as it charged in with deadly precision.
But Pidgeot remained utterly composed. Just as Scyther closed in, Pidgeot suddenly flapped its wings and vanished from its original spot, leaving behind a blur of afterimages.
"What?!" Yas's eyes widened in disbelief.
Pidgeot's speed was terrifying—within a blink, it had circled behind Scyther.
With a powerful flap, it conjured a fierce whirlwind that swallowed Scyther whole.
"Scyther!" Yas cried out in panic, his heart sinking.
Caught in the whirlwind, Scyther struggled to stabilize itself, but the storm was too strong. There was no escape.
"Pidgeot, use Wing Attack!" Kazuki commanded calmly.
Pidgeot's wings turned into blades and struck Scyther with immense force.
Given Pidgeot's massive size, even a basic Wing Attack was devastating.
Scyther was sent flying and crashed to the ground with a painful groan.
Yas's face turned pale.
He hadn't expected this enormous Pidgeot to be so fast.
His Scyther was utterly outmatched, unable to land a single blow—he felt a wave of helplessness wash over him.
"No… impossible! Scyther, get up!" Yas shouted, unwilling to accept defeat.
"Pidgeot, end this. Use Hurricane!" Kazuki gave the final order.
Like a lightning bolt, Pidgeot swooped forward, another gust surging forth.
Scyther was blasted away once more and this time didn't have the strength to stand back up.
The battle was over.
Pidgeot landed gracefully, folding its wings as though the fight had been nothing more than a warm-up.
Scyther lay on the ground, completely unconscious and out of the fight.
The crowd, still stunned by Pidgeot's overwhelming presence, stood in silence—until the air erupted with thunderous applause and cheers.
"Incredible! This kid actually beat both Yas and Kaz!"
"Hey! I think this kid's got the makings of a Pokémon Master!"
Misty and Suzie couldn't help but high-five, proud smiles lighting up their faces as they joined the cheers.
Kazuki gently stroked Pidgeot's feathers and praised it, "Well done, Pidgeot. Come back and rest. I'll prepare some food for you later!"
Yas stared at his defeated Scyther, his expression dark and stormy.
He clenched his teeth, heart filled with frustration and humiliation.
Kaz, who had been about to mock Yas, suddenly remembered his own embarrassing defeat and swallowed his words.
"I… I couldn't even beat a rookie…"
"And I was still arguing with Yas over the Gym spot…"
Kaz muttered to himself, face full of despair. "How am I supposed to pass the League's assessment now?"
Yas overheard and felt the same bitter sting in his heart. "Yeah… defeated in front of so many citizens. How can we even qualify anymore?"
"You two were never qualified to begin with!" A crisp voice rang out as Nurse Joy stepped forward from the crowd, her face stern.
She held up her League ID and spoke coldly, "Kaz. Yas."
"Your two Gyms have been organizing public duels in Dark City to fight for official Gym status, damaging roads and property."
"You've seriously disrupted the lives of citizens."
"As an official League Inspector, I hereby revoke your Gyms' right to compete for official status for the next three years!"
"Additionally, you are ordered to repair all damaged roads and buildings immediately."
Yas and Kaz went pale.
They hadn't realized the League Inspector had already arrived in Dark City—and had witnessed their humiliating defeats firsthand.
"Miss Joy, we…" Yas opened his mouth to plead, but Joy cut him off.
"Save it. Three years is the maximum penalty I can impose. The League will conduct a formal review of your actions."
She shot them both a stern glare.
"If you don't repair the damage quickly, the League will hold you accountable."
The two looked at each other, helpless and full of regret.
They dared not argue further, fearing harsher punishment.
Kazuki watched their disheartened expressions without a shred of sympathy. They had it coming.

Hearing the system prompt, Kazuki mused inwardly—of course, anything involving Nurse Joy had to be tied to a romance event.
"Young man, thank you so much! If not for you, who knows how long the roads and buildings in Dark City would've kept being destroyed!"
"Kazuki, you're truly an amazing trainer!"
Having defeated both Kaz and Yas and winning over the townspeople, Kazuki didn't even have to pay for supplies—local merchants provided everything he needed.
As the crowd began to disperse, Nurse Joy finally approached, a special smile on her face.
"Kazuki, you really are an incredible trainer."
Misty saw Nurse Joy's expression—somewhere between admiration and flirtation—and immediately gave Suzie a knowing look.
"Ahem~ Kazuki, you two talk. That auntie over there offered us some spices. Suzie and I are going to pick some out!"
"Yeah, yeah! That's right!" Suzie had clearly joined Misty's mission to support Kazuki in winning over more sisters.
With that, the two girls ran off, leaving Kazuki and Nurse Joy alone.
"What are they…?" Joy asked, confused.
"They're giving us space!" The event was complete, the affection rising, and Kazuki no longer held back.
Joy blushed and chuckled, coughing softly before teasing, "What, you strong man—trying to get a third girlfriend now?"
"Careful you don't wear yourself out!"
"I'm diamond-bodied, Miss Joy. No need to worry!" Kazuki's eyes gleamed with a predatory glint.
Their eyes met, Joy's heart started to race. A moment later, she turned away shyly.
"Isn't your goal to win the Indigo League?"
"Don't drain yourself before the final battle!"
"When you stand on the championship stage, I'll be there to see just how strong you really are."
Joy gave him a meaningful smile.
"I need to return to the League and report."
"I'll make sure your deeds are recognized—you'll get the reward you deserve."
Kazuki tested the waters with a suggestive comment, but seeing Joy wasn't quite at that stage yet, he nodded and shifted the topic.
"Thank you, Miss Joy!"
"I'll save some energy for you on championship night."
Joy lightly tapped his shoulder, exchanged a few more words, then bid Kazuki farewell and left Dark City…
