Chapter 88 - Chapter 88

As that look of bliss spread across her face, Officer Jenny couldn't hold back the cry from her heart: "Mmm—Kazuki darling!"

Hearing her string the two words together like that, Kazuki immediately understood. Officer Jenny had long since regained consciousness—everything after that had been entirely of her own volition.

After resting for a bit, Jenny's eyes flickered and she abruptly sat up, launching into a performance.

"Huh? What… what just happened?!"

"This was supposed to be someone else's honeymoon suite!"

"Why… why is it the two of us here now?!"

"Ahh! Kazuki, listen! My head was all foggy just now, I wasn't… I didn't…"

Kazuki leaned in close with a teasing smile. "Didn't what?"

Meeting his gaze, Jenny faltered, her eyes darting away as she quickly averted her gaze. "I—I wasn't fully conscious!"

"I… I didn't even realize I was… with you…!"

"Oh? Is that so? Then what were you thinking?" Kazuki easily saw through her terrible acting.

"I… I wasn't thinking anything! I don't even have anyone I like… but then I met you, and I started to feel… something!"

Jenny trailed off shyly, her eyes tinged with red.

"I knew it. I knew you'd snapped out of it halfway through already."

"Eh? You knew?! Oh no, that's so embarrassing!" The ever-dominant Jenny now buried her face with both hands. "I… I even said such shameless things!"

"Aww! I'm so mortified!"

"What? You mean those were your real thoughts?" Kazuki raised an eyebrow in mild surprise.

"Wait—so you didn't know?!" Jenny squeaked, burying her face again in embarrassment.

Kazuki leaned in and held her. "It's fine. I liked it."

"I mean, I didn't exactly hold back either—especially in the middle, when I…"

"I—I liked it too!" Jenny blurted out quickly. "I really liked you being like that!"

"After I talked with Misty that night…"

"I actually imagined something like this later that evening!"

"I never thought it'd come true so soon!"

Jenny nestled against Kazuki's chest on her own initiative.

Kazuki let her lean into him as they lay back down. "So this is the real Officer Jenny, huh?"

"I'm not like this with anyone else—only you!" she whispered, gently running her hand across Kazuki's abs.

"Hey, Kazuki… this must've been fate, right?"

"Oh? You knew what to call me earlier, and now you don't?" When dealing with a strong woman, one had to be even stronger.

"Ugh… okay… darling!"

"Good girl." Kazuki stroked her loose hair with affection.

Jenny chuckled bashfully and glanced toward the floor. "Um, darling… I… I've always been raised under strict discipline… so I really embarrassed myself just now."

Kazuki followed her gaze, gently running his fingers over the bed sheets. "It was wonderful. You've never done anything like this before, have you?"

"Eek! You're teasing me again!" Jenny squealed. "Of course I haven't! At most, I've just… imagined it too much. To tell you the truth…" She lowered her head, her flushed cheeks brushing against Kazuki's shoulder.

"This… this was my first time, you know."

"Oh? You've got quite the natural talent then. I like it." Kazuki gave her a light smack.

Jenny beamed with a look of satisfaction. As the daze in her mind slowly faded, she began thinking ahead. "Oh right—Kazuki… darling!"

"That thing just now… let's not tell Misty, okay?"

She glanced at the damp patches on the floor.

"When I chatted with Misty that night, I even said I was more reserved than her…"

"So that is what you two talked about that night, huh?" Kazuki grinned and gave her a bold squeeze, eliciting another delighted moan from Jenny. "But even if I don't say anything, when the two of you are together again… Wouldn't it get exposed sooner or later?"

"Y-Yeah… but that's a problem for future me! No rush! I'll confess to big sis Misty later!" Even though Jenny had played out many different "scenes" in her mind countless times already, this being her first real experience still left her flushed with embarrassment.

"Alright, then we'll save that reveal for when you two team up next time."

"Wait—hold up! Why'd you call her big sis Misty just now?"

"Aren't you older than her?"

Kazuki frowned, confused by Jenny's sudden switch in titles.

"Oh, that!" Jenny grinned. "Misty said she wanted to be the big sister that night and since she's been by your side longer than I have, I figured I'd call her that!"

"You two are unbelievable. Whatever you call each other is up to you. I'll just focus on conquering you one by one."

"Mmm~ You're amazing, darling!" Jenny gave Kazuki a peck on the cheek, then shifted gears. "So, once the festival ends, where are you headed next?"

"Saffron City. Gonna challenge the Saffron Gym!"

"Saffron City, huh…" Jenny thought for a moment. "My cousin's stationed there, but I haven't interacted much with her. I don't really know what she's like, so I can't offer much help."

"Oh? What's this? You trying to help me bag your whole family too?" Kazuki smirked. Truth be told, he had considered it—but he hadn't expected this Officer Jenny from Maiden's Peak to be thinking along the same lines.

"Don't be ridiculous! I just figured that since you're off training Pokémon and I have work, I won't be able to stay with you the whole time. So I wanted to give you some info on my sisters—so you'll have help wherever you go! Besides, our family does have a lot of sisters!"

"Even if you've got… well, titanic strength, we're still an endless abyss, you know?" Jenny giggled, giving Kazuki a sly reminder.

"Doesn't matter. I'll take on as many as I have to. Once I become Champion, I'll bring you all together."

That was the plan, anyway. With the system on his side, he might just unlock some kind reward in the future.

"Mmm~ darling, you're the best! I can't wait to be with all my sisters too!" Jenny clapped her hands excitedly. "Back home, I was always hearing about how amazing my cousins were."

"If you actually conquer them, hehe, I'll have the perfect excuse to tease them silly!"

Officer Jenny from Maiden's Peak seemed even more excited than Kazuki at the idea of collecting her whole extended family.

"Fine. You can tease them later. But for now… it's still your turn to be teased." Kazuki gave her a sly look.

Jenny returned the gaze with a playful pout. "Can't help it! I've just got such a thing for you… Kazuki darling!"

And with that, Jenny melted into Kazuki's embrace once more…

[Ding! Perfect Romance Mission Progress: 3/10. Successfully captured: Delia, Melanie, Maiden's Peak Officer Jenny]

After that night, Officer Jenny became the first love interest Kazuki captured without using a Poké Ball.

Thanks to the system's Perfect Romance registration, this Officer Jenny from Maiden's Peak reached full loyalty status—utterly devoted.

As dawn broke and the first ray of sunlight pierced through the lingering mist, Kazuki finished getting dressed and stepped out of the cabin—only to realize they weren't surrounded by forest at all.

This little wooden hut… was perched right on the edge of Maiden's Peak.

Glancing back, the wedding decorations on the cabin had vanished too.

Inside, Officer Jenny was still fast asleep, and beside her wasn't a wedding dress, but her usual uniform skirt.

Still, the marks she'd left behind were very, very real.

Just then, Gastly floated up from the surface of the sea. "So, boss—how about it? My talisman was worth the price, huh?"

"It was your doing, huh? Gastly!" Kazuki grinned, pointing at the ghost hovering over the water. "And yeah, it was definitely worth it. Very worth it."

"To be fair, it was all consensual! My Hypnosis doesn't mess with people's true emotions."

"Things only work out if they truly feel it themselves!"

The Gastly's honesty confirmed it: Officer Jenny had genuinely fallen for Kazuki from the heart.

"I see… still, thanks anyway."

"You know, the more I watch you, the more I like you, kid. Here! Have another talisman on the house!" With a puff, the ancient Gastly blew over another piece of talisman paper.

Kazuki caught it and examined it—the runes shimmered faintly, clearly different from the one before. "The festival ends today, and you're still handing me these gimmicky charms?"

"Hey! This one's not a gimmick!" Gastly chuckled mysteriously. "Light this talisman, and I can instantly warp to your side to help out!"

"You can burn it over and over, and each time I'll follow wherever it leads!"

Kazuki chuckled at the ghost's money-hungry antics. Sure, the appearance fee wasn't cheap—but for him now, calling Gastly a few hundred times was no big deal.

Besides, having a thousand-year-old Gastly as your ace-in-the-hole? Not a bad backup plan. You could even call it a kind of "indirect capture."

Kazuki studied the glowing talisman, then looked up with a sly grin. "Wait—so this one's not a gimmick?"

"Which means the last one was, huh?"

"And you still had the nerve to charge me double for it!"

Realizing what was up, Kazuki smirked. The task at Maiden's Peak must've been completed, and now this ancient Gastly had developed genuine goodwill toward him.

So he didn't mind teasing it a bit.

"Ah? Haha!" Gastly gave a nervous laugh. "N-No it wasn't! Didn't I give you a fantastic Hypnosis experience too?"

"Uh-oh! The sun's almost up—ghosts aren't too fond of that!"

"I-I'm off now! If you need me, don't forget the charming paper! Bye-bye!"

With that excuse, Gastly turned into a wisp of blue smoke and vanished into the morning air.

Kazuki laughed and shook his head, then turned his attention to checking the rewards from the completed mission…
