The sudden statement sent chills down Katakuri and the others' spines. Their worst fear had just become reality!
If Charlotte Linlin found out about this, then when they returned to Whole Cake Island, who knew what terrifying punishment awaited them?
They knew better than anyone what kind of person their mother was.
The word defeat was the one thing Charlotte Linlin refused to hear.
If she learned that they had been completely wiped out—that they weren't even a match for the Kamui Pirates—she would definitely come to settle the score with them sooner or later.
On Whole Cake Island, Charlotte Linlin was still waiting happily for good news from Katakuri and the others. She was merrily devouring a sweet cake.
The enormous cake in front of her had been painstakingly made by her own children, with their utmost effort.
The ingredients for the cake had all been plundered from various kingdoms.
Just for this single cake, the treasuries of several nations had been looted.
It had even indirectly caused the downfall of those kingdoms.
This was precisely why the Charlotte family was so despised.
If they wanted something, they would stop at nothing—no matter how despicable the means—to get it.
As Charlotte Linlin enjoyed her cake, a sudden and ominous feeling came over her.
It was as if something terrible had happened.
"Hmm?"
"What is this feeling?"
Charlotte Linlin frowned. Something didn't feel right.
Just then—
The Den Den Mushi on the table suddenly rang.
Charlotte Linlin instinctively picked it up, thinking it was Katakuri calling to report in.
However, the voice that came through wasn't Katakuri's. It wasn't any of her children's, either.
It was an unfamiliar voice.
"Hello, is this Charlotte Linlin?"
Charlotte Linlin froze, stunned by the unfamiliar tone. Then she asked instinctively, "Who are you? Why do you have my family's Den Den Mushi?"
"Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Kronos. I'm sure you remember that name, right?"
Kronos.
That name—Charlotte Linlin could never forget it, even in death. It was etched into her memory for life.
If there was one person she wanted to kill more than anyone, it was Kronos.
To her, the biggest threat in the world right now was undoubtedly him.
But she couldn't understand—why was he using this particular Den Den Mushi to contact her?
After all…
This was the Charlotte family's emergency line!
No matter the circumstances, no one outside the family would ever be allowed access to it.
Unless…
Unless something had happened to her children—and the Den Den Mushi had fallen into Kronos' hands!
Realizing this, Charlotte Linlin was instantly furious. She roared into the receiver:
"Kronos! What did you do to my children?! Why is that Den Den Mushi in your hands?!"
