I heard a weird sound, and the next thing I knew, everything turned dark.
It appeared I was lying on solid ground, but I couldn't feel my weight; it was like I was in zero-point gravity.
Hands ran up from my abs to my neck, they felt cold like a corpse.
"Open your eyes, Shadow of Divinity."
My eyes fluttered open, adjusting to the sudden brightness. I blinked a few times, narrowing my eyes to get a better look. The light seemed to pulse from everywhere and nowhere at once, making it hard to focus.
As my vision cleared, I saw her.
She knelt beside me, her pale hands resting lightly on my neck. A white t-shirt clung to her form, translucent enough to reveal her boobs underneath. Over her head, she wore a white, cartoonish ghost-shaped hood with a smiling, somewhat mischievous face design.
