Chapter 22 - Captured

Beyond the forest, the thunder rumbled. It merged with the mist. The entire forest was filled with mist. Across the jungle and trees, and all those mushrooms, there was a cave, sealed with talisman. Inside, a faint glow of kiwai could be sensed. There was a blonde figure, a feminine figure, a warm figure. She was the slave of the Shi family. She was cultivating and trying to regain her energy. She had been there for more than three days, and she had not returned.

She let out a sigh and calmed her state with no panic in her eyes. What should I do? If I did not return right now, they would think that I had left or I had died. She took a deep breath and concentrated all her energy. Boom! Finally, after 3 years, she reached 4th Qi to 5th Qi condensation.

The disappointment, hesitation, and panic all disappeared from her eyes. It was filled with excitement.

Since she had reached the fifth stage after three years, she was very happy.

She jumped all over the cave. Her momentum changed and her behavior also changed, as if she was another person.

Despite reaching the fifth stage, she did not let down her guard. She concentrated all her energy and used it on her sea of consciousness, increasing the effect of the cultivation.

Trying to regain all her energy and return within two days or else she would be in trouble. Then she took the pill and almost all the energy around the mountain, or the cave, started floating around her.

After regaining all her energy she moved from the cave and said, "There are more than thousands of beasts here, but still, there are none of second level that I can hunt right now, so I'll take my leave."

She used the cloud steping.

After two days,

she reached the Shi family and again did all the chores, housework, and laundry like always. Nobody had even noticed her absence for those 5 days as if she was a person at all, not caring whether she lived or died.

But for some reason,

she always felt like someone had their eyes on her. She was both insecure and cautious, as if someone had been watching her around.

But she did not know who it was, though she really wanted to know. She would always panic and never let her guard down. She felt like eyes were keeping on her. She moved from those thoughts to deep reflection.

Actually, her intuition was right. Someone had been following her from behind and spying on her for the last five days. He had noticed that she had left the Shi family but waited because he knew she would eventually return. And she did.

Then what? The man looked everywhere. He had spied on that girl for more than a year, searching for a reason to believe she was dangerous. Because he had orders—given by whom?

The hooded man took another glance at the girl, but she did not know that someone was watching her.

Since how could the girl know? She was fifth Qi condensation, but the man was seventh Qi condensation. How could she know? Or someone two levels above her?

She just moved to another faction . And like that, the day passed and the night. Again, she did the same, went to the forest and trained a new shot. And after that, she practiced as usual. No, not everyone else—like every day, it was a routine.

He had noticed for more than 10 days now. He had almost all the reports and had also noticed the deaths of those slaves she had run from.

Then the man greeted her threats and said, "Finally, she will live. Not much!"

Inside the black chamber, a lone figure sat on a throne. This throne was the leader's—the leader Mu Kuang. The hooded man appeared behind him, kneeling on one knee. He showed clear respect and admiration and said, "I bow to the head of the Shi family."

he bowed. But still, the man did not reveal anything. The old man had black hair, looked around 30 to 40 years old, but actually, he was the leader of the Shi family, being around 200-300 years old. He nodded and said,

"What do you want to say?"

The hooded man felt cold, terrifying energy emitting from the leader and replied, "I have a report you can use to eliminate her." He smiled, but this smile was not joy; it was full of evilness as if too many things weighed on his mind.

He coldly said, "I saw that girl kill the head slave. That is a great reason or explanation, you can use to kill her." When the old man exposed his smile, it was something he could not explain. He told or ordered the hooded man to leave. He gritted his teeth and clenched his face. The throne shattered as he stood up. The hooded man was terrified and left. The old man shouted, "With Soul Brother, finally I rid of your bloodline. Even your daughter, even my niece, will die."

Unbeknownst to them plotting behind her back, the girl had no idea what was happening. She was doing everything like a normal day. She had no idea that within some days, even hours, she would be sentenced to prison or trapped by her own uncle, the leader. She did not know anything about it. She did the chores, laundry, and deliveries.

The next day, more than three men arrived, all around 7th or 8th stage Qi condensation. They shouted,

"We know you killed the head slave. The leader has called you."

Inside the room, the girl panicked. She never thought they would find out so quickly. Still, she tried to clear herself and clearly said, "Can I, a mere slave, kill the head slave?"

Outside, almost all the slaves gathered. Some were ghosting, some cursing her. No one liked her, and it still bothered her. She only did her job, and that was all she did.

The men again shouted, calling her outside. The girl panicked even more. But what could she do? A 5th stage against three 7th and 8th stages—what could she do? She was weaker.

Boom!

The door collapsed as the three men destroyed it and entered. One of them licked his lips mockingly and said, "If you hadn't refused to spend the night with me, none of this would have happened."

She felt disgusted and said, "I'd rather die than be with you!"

Anger was clear on her face. Facing the aura of three 7th and 8th stage Qi cultivators, she felt suffocated.

Before she could think, they jumped at her with a net in their hands. This net was not ordinary—it contained the aura of a 3rd rank beast.

Still, her unyielding will didn't fade. She resisted and used the Ancestral World Slash. All the spiritual energy crazily gathered around her wooden sword.

"First strike!"

"Second strike!"

"Third strike!"

With three strikes, she coughed out a mouthful of blood and almost fainted. The sword's energy collided with the net. Even those men were shocked and dreaded her technique, even though she was a slave. She used to be the daughter of a leader.

The net surrounded her.

Boom!

Her body froze. She could not move. They dragged her, not lifting but dragging her, her face scraping the ground. Even more obtruders appeared.

The slaves all stared, shouting and urging her to leave.

A single tear fell from her eyes. Though her body was frozen, her soul and heart were free. She felt the pain she had been suppressing for many years—the torment, the bullying, and those disgusting gazes.
