An open field — though small, yet content. Houses scattered across the plains, spread like cattle beneath the sky.
In such a common house, upon such a common land of the Old Rule, dwells such a common boy, bearing such a common dream : the dream to provide.
The sun rises. A lovely orange ray escapes into the diner. A boy sits at the table, waiting for the gift of love.
But when it does not arrive, he chooses to continue — hollow.
He gets up, fixes his dark brown hair, and walks toward the door.
As the light kisses his face, he is wrapped in an emotion known as mother. The warmth of the sun falls short beside the tear on his cheek —cold, yet somehow just as warm.A breath is taken before the farewell. Some words are uttered : "Take care, Xitij. Please return safe to me. "And others: "Yes... I will."
In the nations of the Old Rule, a trial awaits every youth who shares the common dream.
After completing primary education in a Bronze Hall , each must face the Trial —and overcome it —to earn passage into one of the Eight Silver Halls.
This rite begins at the grand Registration Festival, held in the education capital of Inkraeth ,in the blazing heart of Ardovale.
Xitij departs on his long journey —from the sun-fired lands of Tejorasya.
Here, in Inkraeth, an azure-eyed boy sits at the registration center, gaze locked on the counter, trying to summon the courage to approach the man at the fifth table —the one who seems safest.
He overhears a nearby conversation between two girls reading a book:-
The Trial is a year long test used to evaluate the capability of a bronze ranked scholar . It is used as a method for the Eight Silver Halls to select promising attendees.
It consists of Two phases :-
The Trial's first phase lasts for three months. The scholars are left to survive in the forests called the Trial Lands full of wild beasts. Within this time, these wild creatures shall be hunted for points.
Each successful kill leaves a trace of blood energy scarred temporarily upon the "Trial henna" on the participant's wrist —a record of power, etched by living light.
Creatures are ranked by Battle Strength (BTS)and leave traces accordingly.
There exist twenty levels:
1: 1–3 BTS
2: 4–10 BTS
3: 10–20 BTS
4: 20–40 BTS
5: 40–60 BTS
6: 60–80 BTS
7: 80–110 BTS
8: 110–130 BTS
9: 130–150 BTS
10: 150–170 BTS
11: 170–200 BTS
12: 200–220 BTS
13: 220–250 BTS
14: 250–280 BTS
15: 280–320 BTS
16: 320–400 BTS
17: 400–500 BTS
18: 500–700 BTS
19: 700–1000 BTS
20: 1000+ BTS — The Global Level
Within the Trial, no creature exceeds the 15th level. To qualify for the second phase, one must earn at least 1000 points.
The beasts that roam the trial are all tamed summons —but for the sake of the trial they carry bloodlust.
Of all the creatures an individual defeats , one of the beasts should be chosen for the second phase —where the trial shifts from killing to taming.
The individuals who pass the 1st phase are given 6 months to recover and train to be fit enough to capture their desired beast.
If you are able to tame the beast you get to claim it. To fail or kill it is to fail the second phase.
Victory means keeping the beast. Failure means the trial is over.
Final rankings depend on the level of beast tamed and the total BTS earned along with other achievements along the journey.
From these ranks, the Eight Silver Halls make their selection.Though it is extremely difficult to get into the Three Esteemed Silver Halls. The elite of the elite often rise from these three halls and make it to The Golden Hall.
The girls' eyes bedazzle upon just the thought of the golden hall .
Meanwhile the azure eyed boy thinks to himself : "Damn I was quite lucky to hear that ! , I just closed that book halfway thinking that it just had kid level info. Hehe guess i underestimated it . Well now that I have heard almost all of it I am now well informed about everything . Maybe this will come handy later"
