Chapter 396 - Chapter 396: Return to the Holy Land

The Fishman Kingdom was very close to the Red Line.

Rosse and the others' fleet had been sailing for less than a day when they already arrived at the Red Line.

"Is this Holy Land Mary Geoise? Didn't they say it was just destroyed?"

Gazing at Mary Geoise from afar, Scarlett couldn't help but exclaim, her beautiful eyes filled with shock.

What met her eyes was a completely white, boundless immense city, like a divine nation carved from white jade, solemn and sacred.

From where they landed all the way to the gates of Mary Geoise stretched a vast sea of flowers carefully laid out, brilliant with every hue and giving off a heady fragrance.

In the center of the flower sea, a road made of some precious metal shone dazzlingly in the sunlight, stretching straight toward the center of Mary Geoise, as if a road leading to the realm of gods.

Just that first glance was enough to leave Scarlett utterly stunned.

"These are the blueprints provided by Your Highness. Although His Highness didn't participate in Mary Geoise's reconstruction, the concept and plan were provided by him," With an elegant female voice, Sora's graceful figure appeared before everyone.

After a brief explanation, Sora smiled and walked up to Rosse, and in front of Otohime and Gion gave Rosse a forceful hug, as if she wanted to melt into his body.

"So it was Saint Rosse's idea? More magnificent than the previous Holy Land."

Following behind, King Riku voiced his praise, pulling his daughter and respectfully bowing to Sora.

"Hail to Saintess Sora!"

Although Saint Saturn still held the rank of one of the Five Elders, King Riku clearly understood that the people who currently best represented the Jaygarcia family were actually the other two.

Rosse represented absolute force, renowned throughout the world for killing multiple legendary pirates.

Sora represented absolute power, as the new Navy Chief of Staff and the de facto ruler of the Mercenary Association, she suppressed the privileges of allied nations' elites until they could hardly breathe.

Although Sora's influence came because of Rosse and Saint Saturn, putting Rosse's woman in this position already said a lot.

Sora quickly returned to her usual demeanor, nodded to King Riku, and waved to Scarlett.

Rosse had already said Scarlett could help Sora with some assignments, which was a tremendous thing for her.

With someone handling external affairs, Sora could devote herself entirely to research.

Research into genetic factors had been shelved for a long time.

"Sora-nee!"

Scarlett happily ran over, holding Sora's arm and launching into unending praise.

Although much of it was formulaic flattery, Scarlett's praise was basically heartfelt.

She couldn't emulate Gion and Otohime's monstrous physique or Haki talents, but she felt she could follow Sora's path.

"Come along, Scarlett. I'll give you a proper tour of the Holy Land."

Sora smiled and led Scarlett to ride together in a dragon cart, heading toward the interior of Mary Geoise.

The so-called dragon cart was drawn by dinosaur-like creatures; these beasts had recently been captured by the World Government from various places and quickly domesticated by corresponding Devil Fruit users.

This was exclusive to the Jaygarcia family; other families and the World Government used different varieties.

This was also Rosse's suggestion.

Using slaves as mounts was tacky.

To persuade other Celestial Dragons was simple: if you can use slaves as mounts, so can pirates and allied nobles.

As the top Celestial Dragons in the world, should they be the same as others?

Rather than ride slaves, use rare or even extinct creatures as mounts, and design different chassis to show status.

If there is no demand, create demand.

Just customizing these mounts brought Rosse's forces nearly ten billion in revenue.

"What's that over there?"

A little farther ahead, Scarlett saw the full view of Mary Geoise.

Most prominent in Mary Geoise's core area stood an enormous palace building soaring into the clouds, majestic as if supporting the sky itself.

Scarlett noticed a giant World Government flag hanging atop the palace, fluttering and proclaiming the rulers of this land.

Even from far away they could clearly see that massive flag waving in the breeze, standing out against the blue sky.

Normally a place like that would be a royal palace.

But in the World Government, there shouldn't be a royal palace. After all, the Celestial Dragons jointly rule here; no one is more noble than another.

"That is the World Government building symbolizing the highest world authority. The World Conference is held there; it's also the office of the Five Elders, and it was the only building left undamaged in the Holy Land incident," Sora explained with a smile.

The building had always been tall, but Mary Geoise had other tall structures.

At Rosse's suggestion, that building became the tallest in Mary Geoise, its foundation raised considerably.

It wasn't only the Five Elders' office but also where Imu resided.

According to Rosse, if that one didn't want conflict, just put her up high. After all, it was just an empty title.

"Ohhh! So that is the core of the World Government..."

Scarlett's eyes held a trace of longing; her goal was to be able to help Rosse.

And to help Rosse, she would have to enter the World Government's center of power.

Like Sora beside her, who definitely had the privilege of freely going in and out.

But Scarlett didn't have the right to enter that building during this World Conference; she could only wander around other parts of Mary Geoise.

She still had a long way to go.

Scarlett turned her gaze elsewhere.

"Sora-nee, that area with the nine tall towers, is that where our Jaygarcia family and the other Celestial Dragon families live?"

As she spoke, Scarlett pointed to the distance.

Around the World Government building were nine slightly shorter towers, guarding the central seat of power like stars around the moon.

These towers varied in height and shape, each topped with a different flag.

After two years of immersion, Scarlett could recognize what those flags represented.

They symbolized the nine remaining Celestial Dragon families and the supreme authority each family represented.

"That's right. That's the area where the Celestial Dragons reside," Sora nodded.

The towers had no special function; they were merely symbols of height of power.

"Sora-nee, I noticed something, our Jaygarcia family's flag is higher than the other families', only the Figarland family's tower can compare!"

Scarlett giggled; her joyous voice carried far.

Indeed, even among Celestial Dragons, Rosse's family was top-tier.

She would work hard for that.
