Time Skip – Two Days Later…
The morning sun shone brightly over Trost District. The sky stretched blue and spotless, and the scent of damp earth from last night's rain still lingered faintly in the air. Birds flew low, chirping as if unaware that today would mark a turning point in human history.
Today is the day of the Battle of Trost.
On the western wall of Trost, stood Erwin, Levi, Yukito, and Rimuru. The four of them were ready for what was about to unfold.
SHUT!
BZZT!
BOOM!
A blinding yellow lightning bolt lit up the sky, catching everyone's attention. And then—appearing before the main gate of Trost District—was the Colossal Titan.
The massive Titan lifted a foot the size of a five-story building. In a heartbeat, it swung it down toward the district's main gate.
CRAAASH!!!
The stone gate shattered instantly, flung into the district like a toy. The explosion of noise, debris, and dust spread in all directions, shaking the ground beneath the soldiers' feet.
The devastating impact sent shockwaves through the area, collapsing nearby buildings and sending citizens still within the district into a panic as they began to flee.
Erwin narrowed his eyes, watching as the Colossal Titan began emitting intense steam from its body. Their time was limited. If they didn't act quickly, Trost District would fall to the Titans pouring in through the breach.
"Levi," Erwin broke the silence among them. "Buy us time. Do what you must until the Garrison and Scout reinforcements arrive. After that, find Eren."
Levi gave a curt nod, glancing at Yukito.
"Help me, Yukito."
Yukito adjusted his grip on the large rifle slung across his back—a Barrett M82A1.
"Understood," Yukito replied.
"Rimuru," Erwin continued, turning to him, "help evacuate the civilians. Minimize casualties. Don't let the situation descend into total chaos."
"I'll take care of it." Rimuru gave a short nod, then leapt off the wall, briefly shifting into slime form before slicing through the air and landing gracefully on a rooftop.
His body returned to human form immediately, and he dashed toward the residential area that had begun to fall apart.
"I'll meet with Commander Pixis and coordinate troop deployment. If everything goes according to plan, we might still reclaim Trost." said Erwin.
He gave Levi one last look and nodded. "Be careful."
"Relax. I've got no plans on dying today," Levi replied.
Levi jumped off the wall, his body diving through the air as the wind howled, carrying with it the scent of dust and tension.
TSSHH—CLACK!
With pinpoint precision, Levi fired his grappling hook toward a still-standing three-story building near the western breach. His body shot forward, and in an instant, he maneuvered left, launching his second hook toward another structure.
As Levi zipped through the crumbling district and the Titans emerging from the broken gate, Erwin turned north—Commander Pixis should already be on his way. He had to hurry.
Erwin took a deep breath, surveying the chaos below with sharp, determined eyes.
"I'm leaving now. I'll wait for Commander Pixis." said Erwin.
"Mhm..." Yukito nodded.
Without wasting time, Erwin jumped from the wall.
TSSHH—CLACK!
He fired his hook toward a nearby tower and gracefully maneuvered through the air before landing on the ground. Without hesitation, he mounted his waiting horse.
"Hyaa!"
His horse galloped through the debris at full speed, carrying Erwin north to meet with Commander Pixis.
Yukito let out a quiet breath, his eyes sweeping across the battlefield that had descended into chaos. He lowered his Barrett M82A1 slightly from his shoulder and looked toward the gaping breach in the wall.
The Colossal Titan had vanished, disappearing after destroying the gate. All that remained was destruction: scattered rubble, rising dust, and distant screams.
"…He's gone," Yukito murmured.
But the danger wasn't over. Regular Titans were now entering the district, their grotesque forms staggering through the breach.
Calmly, Yukito deployed the bipod of his Barrett M82A1 and went prone. He took a deep breath, steadying his pounding heart.
"Alright… Time to do my part."

POV – Rimuru
The once-blue sky was now veiled by smoke rising from burning buildings. Screams and cries echoed from every corner of Trost District. Titans were pouring in through the shattered gate, and time was racing toward catastrophe.
Amid the chaos, I ran swiftly through narrow alleys packed with panicked civilians. The Scout Regiment uniform I wore—with the green cape bearing the "Wings of Freedom" insignia—earned the people's trust instantly.
By the way, this uniform had been given to me by Erwin just last night, along with a 3D Maneuver Gear. Thanks to Daikenja's help, I'd quickly mastered using it after trying it out yesterday.
I kept running through the ruins, guiding dozens of citizens toward the evacuation gate. Behind me, the horrifying roars of Titans destroying homes grew louder.
"Come on! Just a bit more!" I shouted, helping an old woman who nearly stumbled while carrying her baby.
The evacuation gate came into view, the road to the outer lands wide and clear. Garrison soldiers stationed there were already on high alert, managing the citizens' flow in waves.
But just as we reached the gate, the evacuation line came to a sudden halt.
"Why did we stop?!" I yelled, pushing forward.
That's when I saw the cause—a chubby merchant stood nervously before his massive cart, which was stuck between the narrow gate walls, completely blocking the path.
Amid the panic, the crowd grew even more restless. Children's cries, mothers' screams, and pounding footsteps turned the scene into a storm of hysteria. But the path remained blocked—and Titans were closing in.
A young man in the crowd suddenly shoved a Garrison soldier forward.
"Make him move that damn cart! We're all going to die if this keeps up!" he shouted desperately.
The Garrison soldier looked at the merchant's cart, his jaw clenched and sweat dripping from his temple—but he remained frozen.
"Try me! I'm the merchant guild leader in this town! Who do you think fed your regiment this morning? You think you can afford food without my supplies?" the merchant barked.
I heard it all—and of course, I was furious. I walked up to the merchant, my voice cold and flat.
"You're blocking an evacuation route… for your damn cart?"
The merchant turned to me, still panicked, but also irritated that no one was helping him.
"You! Just have them push it! I'll reward you! I've got money! Plenty! Just say the word and—"
I silenced him with a sharp glare.
"I don't care about your money," I cut him off. "Do you know how many soldiers died today? How many people are still trapped because of your cart clogging the only way out?"
He froze for a second but still tried to justify himself. "But this is everything I own! If I—"
I stared him down, then without a word, drew my sword. The metallic hiss of steel made everyone around go quiet.
SHING!
The blade pointed straight at his neck—just inches from his now-sweating skin.
"The choice is simple," I said coldly. "Move your cart now, or I'll remove it myself—with you on it."
His face went ghostly pale. The greed in his eyes vanished, replaced by terror. He gulped and frantically waved to his workers.
"Y-You there! Move the cart! Now! MOVE!"
His crew rushed to obey, pushing and pulling the cart out of the way, even as the wheels got stuck several times.
"Go! The path's clear!" a Garrison soldier shouted.
The flow of civilians resumed through the gate.
"Thank you, miss!" a little girl cried.
She looked up at me with awe and gratitude. Beside her, her mother hugged her and bowed deeply to me.
"Thank you so much... If not for you, we might have—" Her voice cracked, too overwhelmed to finish. Tears streamed down her cheeks, whether from fading fear or relief, I couldn't tell.
I looked at them for a moment, then offered a gentle smile. "No need to thank me… Just survive. That's enough."
The little girl nodded eagerly, gripping her mother's hand tightly as they hurried out through the gate.
I stood still in front of the now-open gate, watching the people still pouring out—some crying, some silent, stunned by events too enormous to grasp.
I took a deep breath, letting the warm air mixed with dust fill my lungs.
For a moment, I looked up at the sky—once blue, now darkened by smoke and the rising clouds of war.
"Levi is probably fighting near the broken gate right now.... I have to go there now"
