Chapter 177 - Mix of Awe and Confusion

~ Ding! *System Notification Chime*

The air was thick with the acrid scent of alchemy, the Dao Furnace's heat lingering like a pyro spirit as Lordi Payne sat before it. The system's chime echoed in his mind.

A few moments later…

The alchemy furnace erupted in a dazzling golden light as the system-controlled Lordi completed his work, its radiant glow illuminating the woods. When the shimmering mist cleared, fifteen pristine elixir pills rested on the jade tray. The elixir's surfaces were flawless - covered in intricate natural flame patterns that seemed to shift like living things, their legendary level quality undeniable even at a glance.

Donovan's jaw actually dropped open, his usual composed demeanor shattered by the display of sheer alchemical mastery. 'Holy fucking hell!' His mind reeled as he counted the pills again, unable to believe what he was seeing. "Fifteen? Fifteen legendary-grade pills in one batch? Even the grandmaster alchemists at the Outer Sect headquarters would weep to see this!" His fingers twitched with the urge to grab them immediately, yet he restrained himself, not wanting to disrupt whatever profound process Lordi was undertaking.

Emma stood frozen beside him, her delicate hands pressed against her mouth in shock. The analytical part of her mind automatically calculated the astronomical value of what she was witnessing - each of those pills could spark bidding wars among higher realm mights. Yet what truly stunned her was the absolute precision of Lordi's movements throughout the process, his hands moving with otherworldly grace and confidence. "This... this isn't just skill," she realized with dawning awe. "This is art. The kind of mastery that comes once in a millennium."

Donovan blinked rapidly, his initial awe giving way to confusion as he properly identified the pills. "Payne Bro," he began, his usually booming voice uncharacteristically hesitant, "why the abyss did you... I mean, these are Spirit Restore Pills?" His scarred forehead creased deeply as he stared at the legendary level elixirs. "Not that I'm complaining about this insane display of skill, but... wasn't the plan Foundation Establishment Pills?" He rubbed his chin, completely thrown off balance—both by the unexpected product and the casual perfection with which Lordi had produced it.

Their astonishment reached new heights when Lordi, still trapped in the system's control, casually swept the entire batch of legendary pills aside like worthless pebbles, preparing to start anew. Donovan actually choked on air, his face turning red. "Is this man fucking serious?!" Yet at the same time, he couldn't help but marvel at the absolute confidence this display represented. "This Payne either has balls of mythril or knows something I don't..."

Emma's nails dug into her palms as she fought to maintain her composure. "He's treating legendary level elixirs like failed practice attempts," she thought, equal parts horrified and awestruck. The implications were staggering—what level of mastery must one possess to regard such treasures as disposable? Her earlier disdain for Lordi warred violently with this new, undeniable evidence of his otherworldly skill. The cognitive dissonance made her head spin.

Just as the system began guiding Lordi through the motions for another batch, Emma remembered her assigned role.

Moving with hesitant grace, she approached the entranced alchemist, her delicate hand trembling slightly as she reached up. The moment her fingers brushed against Lordi's sweat-dampened forehead—

The AllFullOS System terminated its process abruptly.

The moment Lordi clawed back control of his body, his first act wasn't to celebrate—no, it was to slam the AwfulOS with a one-star rating so fast the system's robotic voice stuttered mid-sentence.

With icy precision, he mentally commanded, "Rename the Untitled Alchemy Skill #0001 to 'Alchemy Skill: Spirit Restore Pill.'"

To Donovan and Emma, he offered a lazy stretch, voice dripping with fabricated ease. "Just a warm-up. Needed to find my alchemy rhythm."

Meanwhile, his pulse hammered like a war drum.

"System," Lordi hissed internally, "I want to practice. Select the skill. Select the Untitled Alchemy Skill #0002!"

Before the AwfulOS could yank control back, Lordi stole one last glance at Donovan and Emma. Their faces were a mix of awe and confusion—

Good. Let them stay clueless.
