Chapter 22 - The Celestial Phoenix

The gorilla army hesitates for a moment, shocked by the return of the masters.

TIGRESS: (Helping Po to his feet) "Po, are you alright?"

PO: (Nodding, his eyes locked on Xian's platform) "I'm okay... but Master Yang is still up there."

TIGRESS: "We'll hold them off. Go! Get to him!"

Po nods, and the battle resumes. The Furious Five, now fighting with the grief for their master fueling their rage, are a perfectly coordinated storm of destruction, easily tearing through the gorilla ranks.

While the battle rages, Zhen slips through the chaos, moving from cage to cage, her hairpin a blur as she frees the other captured kung fu masters. Master Storming Ox and Master Croc emerge, joining the fight and turning the tide even further.

From his high platform, Xian watches his army being dismantled. He sees the freed masters joining the fray. His look of calm superiority shatters into disbelief and rage.

XIAN: (Grabbing a nearby gorilla guard by the armor, his voice a furious snarl) "No... no, no! How did they escape?!"

He shoves the guard aside and then hears a faint click directly behind him. He spins around. Zhen is there, desperately working on the locks of Master Yang's chains.

Xian's eyes narrow with contempt. He leaves the terrified gorilla and stalks towards her. He effortlessly picks up a huge, jagged rock from the rubble and raises it high above his head to crush her.

But just as he brings it down, Po comes flying through the air, his fist glowing with golden chi, and smashes the rock into a thousand pieces.

Po lands between Xian and Zhen, dodging a furious follow-up strike from the villain. Po counters with a powerful, chi-and-kung-fu-mixed strike—a spinning kick followed by an open-palm chi blast that hits Xian square in the chest and sends him flying backward, slamming hard into the far rocky wall.

Po doesn't waste a second. He turns to Master Yang and, with a focused shout, strikes his Obsidian Iron chains, shattering them with a single blow.

As Xian struggles to his feet from across the platform, Po helps the weak Master Yang to his feet.

MASTER YANG:(Looking at Po with utter awe)"Po... that strength... it comes not from my lessons, but from your heart."

PO: (His eyes never leaving the recovering Xian) "Let's finish this. Together."

Master Yang nods, his own strength returning. The two masters—the old and the new—stand side-by-side, dropping into fighting stances as Xian rises from the rubble, now truly enraged.

On the high platform, Po and Master Yang face the enraged Xian. Below, the Furious Five have freed themselves and are now a whirlwind of coordinated fury, methodically dismantling the gorilla army.

XIAN: "This was always between us, Yang. The student who was chosen, and the one who was cast aside."

MASTER YANG: "You were never cast aside, Xian. You threw yourself away for the sake of your own pride."

Xian scoffs and attacks. He stomps his foot, but instead of attacking them directly, he uses his first secret: The Shadow Marionette. Po's own shadow peels itself off the ground, its eyes glowing red. The shadow lunges at Po, forcing him into a bizarre duel. Po's punches and kicks pass harmlessly through its dark form, but the shadow's strikes are solid, landing with a heavy, chi-draining force.

While Po is occupied, Xian engages Yang in a fierce, detailed fight. Seeing Po struggling, Master Yang creates an opening and slams his palm on the ground, releasing The Golden Flash—a brilliant, sun-like burst of pure light that instantly erases all shadows on the platform, causing the marionette to dissolve into nothing.

Freed, Po and Yang attack together. Xian, now on the defensive, hardens his skin with the Obsidian Shell. Their physical strikes have no effect. Seeing this, Po improvises. He moves his arms so fast they create an afterimage, making it look as though he has a dozen arms ready to strike. This is the Thousand-Fist Illusion. While Xian is distracted by the blur of phantom limbs, Po's one real punch lands with immense force, shattering the Obsidian Shell like glass.

Po stares at his own two hands in disbelief.

PO: (In a loud, excited whisper, mid-fight) "Whoa! Master Yang, did you see that?! For a second there, I thought I'd grown, like, a hundred arms! That would be so cool for hugging... and punching!"

MASTER YANG: (While expertly parrying a furious strike from the now-vulnerable Xian) "Focus, Po! Celebrate later!"

They press their advantage with a stunning display of teamwork. Po uses The Ricochet Fist, punching a pillar and sending the energy erupting out of the floor beneath Xian, while Yang simultaneously uses The Serpent's Coil, a wind vortex that traps the off-balance villain.

But as Tigress lets out a victorious roar from the courtyard below, Master Yang's focus breaks for a split second. It is the only opening Xian needs. He shatters the wind vortex with a raw Shockwave and strikes the distracted Yang with his most devastating technique: The Quaking Palm. Yang is thrown backward with immense force and slams against a fortress wall, where the Obsidian Iron comes alive and traps him.

Seeing this, Po tries his wisdom.

PO: "Look at you. You have all the power you ever wanted. You've beaten everyone. Are you happy now, Xian?"

Xian glares at him, confused by his calm demeanor.

PO: "My dad... he runs a noodle shop. He taught me that a full bowl isn't just about how many noodles you can cram into it. It's about the warmth. The broth. The people you share it with." Po looks at Xian with genuine pity. "Your bowl is empty, Xian. You're all alone."

Xian lets out a cold, broken laugh.

XIAN: "Alone? I was surrounded by 'brothers' in the Furious Five. I had the 'love' of my master, Tai Chi. And for my loyalty, they left me to be forgotten in a stone prison for centuries! Your 'full bowl' is a lie that gets you betrayed and erased!"

Po shakes his head sadly.

PO: "See, that's where you've got it all wrong. You think being powerful means never getting hurt." He gives a small, wry smile, a flash of his old self. "Believe me, I know a little something about getting hurt. I'm a panda. We're not exactly built for... stairs. Or stealth. Or doors."

He becomes serious again, his voice filled with the wisdom he learned through loss.

PO: "But being hurt just means you cared about something. The part you missed wasn't about getting more power. It was about what you do after the pain. It's forgiveness. That's the real... secret ingredient."

For a moment, Xian stares, the word "forgiveness" hanging in the air like a foreign concept. But the centuries of bitterness are too strong. His face twists back into a mask of pure rage.

XIAN: "Forgiveness?! I don't want their forgiveness! I want their erasure! I will show you what true, lasting power looks like!"

PO Encouraging Xian:-

He hits Po with a powerful blow, sending him stumbling back. Xian uses the opening to quickly jump across the courtyard to the ruins of his former stone prison. He reaches into the rubble and pulls out the glowing, broken pieces of the Red Stone of Petrification. He holds them in one hand and strikes the fortress wall with his other.

Sinister red energy spreads through the fortress walls like glowing veins, snaking towards the other masters still locked to the walls, including the trapped Master Yang. They cry out as a grey, stony texture begins to creep up their bodies.

Seeing his friends and mentors being turned to stone again, Po's calm shatters. His face becomes a mask of cold, silent fury.

PO: (His voice a low, dangerous whisper) "Not again. I won't let it happen again."

Fueled by this rage, he explodes into action, launching himself at Xian.

He tackles the much larger gorilla with such ferocious force that they both fly off the high platform and crash into the main courtyard below, shattering the stone where they land.

The great fight begins. It is not a graceful duel of masters; it is a brutal, high-speed brawl between two beings of immense power. Po, fighting with a righteous, furious energy, is a whirlwind of motion. He relentlessly presses his attack, forcing Xian back with a torrent of chi-infused punches and powerful spinning kicks. For every blow Xian blocks, Po lands two more.

Xian, enraged by this panda's raw power, unleashes a shockwave of dark energy. But Po, acting on pure instinct, uses the Flicker Step to phase directly through the blast, appearing in front of a shocked Xian to deliver a devastating uppercut that sends the villain stumbling.

Trying to create distance, Xian lands a powerful kick that sends Po flying backward across the courtyard, straight towards a large, serene lake. But just as he is about to hit the water, Po, with a defiant roar, stomps his foot in mid-air. The water erupts, parting with a mighty whoosh and forming a dry, circular path on the lakebed. Po lands perfectly in the center, the walls of the lake churning around him.

Xian, impressed despite his fury, roars and leaps from the courtyard onto the dry path to continue the fight. Their battle on this impossible stage is legendary. Their blows are so powerful they cause the water walls around them to crash and explode with every impact. Po uses the environment to his advantage, running along the curved, wet walls to launch aerial attacks.

His rage gives him an edge. He is faster, stronger, more relentless. He breaks through Xian's defense, landing a series of heavy, impactful strikes—a punch that cracks Xian's armor, an elbow that sends him staggering, and finally, a massive, spinning kick that sends Xian flying out of the water arena and crashing hard onto the stone of the main courtyard.

Po lands softly back in the courtyard. He stands over the fallen, winded Xian, his face a mask of cold fury. He draws back his fist, and it begins to glow with a furious, uncontrolled golden energy—the very same devastating blast punch technique Xian used to kill his master. His rage has brought him to the brink of victory, and he is ready to end it.

But Xian, looking up from the ground, starts to laugh—a broken, mocking sound.

XIAN: "That look. The rage of someone who has already lost." He gestures weakly towards the ruins of the Jade Palace. "You couldn't protect your home. You couldn't protect your precious master."

Po freezes, the glow in his fist faltering.

XIAN: (His voice now a venomous hiss) "He sacrificed himself to save you... and for what? So you could fail just like he did? You are nothing."

The words shatter Po's rage, replacing it with a tidal wave of grief and self-doubt. Tears well up in his eyes, and the golden energy in his fist sputters and dies completely. He hesitates, his spirit broken.

It is the only opening Xian needs.

He explodes upwards from the ground, striking the stunned Po with a brutal, relentless series of attacks. With a final, devastating kick, Xian sends Po flying backward across the courtyard, where he smashes into a massive, crumbling rock spire.

Po lies dazed at the base of the spire. Xian lands a short distance away. Instead of approaching, he jumps and stomps the ground with immense force. A crack of dark energy shoots across the courtyard floor like a bolt of lightning. It hits the base of the spire, which groans and destabilizes.

Po looks up just in time to see the entire spire collapsing down on top of him. Several large rocks fall, burying him completely under a mountain of stone.

Silence falls over the courtyard.

EXT. XIAN'S FORTRESS COURTYARD - NIGHT

Silence falls over the courtyard, broken only by the crackle of fires. Po is gone, buried under a mountain of stone. Xian stands, panting, victorious.

Below, the battle halts. The Furious Five and Zhen stare in horror.

ZHEN: (Her voice a choked cry) "PO!"

She is the first to move, running towards the massive rock pile and desperately trying to pull the stones away. Tigress follows, her face a mask of cold, controlled grief that quickly melts into pure, untamed rage as she looks at Xian.

Xian throws his head back and laughs, a deep, cruel sound that echoes across the ruined courtyard.

That is the final spark.

Tigress leads the Furious Five and Zhen in a final, unified attack, a desperate charge fueled by grief and fury.

The fight is detailed and fierce. Tigress is a whirlwind of power, her strikes aimed to shatter bone. Monkey and Mantis attack in a high-low blitz, their speed a desperate attempt to find an opening. Crane and Viper try to control the space, creating diversions and attacking from Xian's flanks. But it is Zhen who fights with the most reckless abandon, her daggers a blur as she fights for her fallen master, creating openings for the others with her incredible agility.

But Xian is still unmatched. He moves with a terrible grace, using one hand to block Monkey's staff, the other to parry Tigress's fist. He is a wall against which their fury breaks.

On the ground, Po somehow survives, pulling himself from under the rocks. He is battered, and his leg is clearly broken or badly injured. He collapses, laying on the floor, looking up just in time to see his friends fighting for him, dying for him. He sees their desperation, their grief, and knows his own rage led to this. His anger had made him strong, but it also made him blind.

Suddenly, Shifu's last words echo in his mind, clear as a bell.

FLASHBACK: Shifu's calm, peaceful face. "You cannot defeat a storm by becoming a bigger storm... Be the pool, Po. That is your true power."

Po realizes. He has been trying to be the storm. The Third Key wasn't a power to be learned; it was a state to be achieved. Inner Peace.

Back in the fight, the Furious Five direct all their remaining energy into a single, combined attack—a vortex of strikes aimed at Xian's center.

Xian meets it with a single, open-palm block. A flash of dark chi sparks from his hand, erupting into a powerful shockwave that sends them all flying in separate directions, crashing hard into the walls of the fortress.

Zhen, exhausted and beaten, is the last one to her feet. Xian raises her up by the front of her robes, a cruel sneer on his face. With her last ounce of strength, she somehow grabs his finger, trying to use the Wuxi Finger Hold.

It has no effect. Xian barely seems to notice it.

XIAN: "Insignificant."

He strikes her down, and she lies still. He then turns his attention to the unconscious Master Yang, raising a hand to deliver the final blow. "Now, the end of a failed legacy."

"Leave them ALONE."

The voice is quiet, but it carries an impossibleweight. Po stands up, his broken leg trembling, but his eyes areperfectly calm. There is no anger. No fear. Only a profound stillness.
