Earlier, Behind the Beast Fence.
Kaigaku gritted his teeth as he kicked a loose stone at the fence.
"Tsk. First-years, first-years, FIRST-YEARS!!" he growled, pacing in anger.
He still hadn't forgotten the humiliation of yesterday.
Kael's punch.
The broken sword.
The third-years whispered behind his back.
Every memory burned like fire.
Kaigaku's friend stood behind him, nervously glancing left and right.
"Kaigaku… maybe we should go back before a professor sees us—"
But Kaigaku wasn't listening.
His eyes were fixed on a cage behind the beast fence. A large creature growled inside—scar-like marks across its fur, eyes glowing faint blue.
A Frost-Fang Direwolf, rank-C monster normally used only for second- or third-year exams.
Kaigaku stared at the beast and smiled darkly.
"So… these kids were walking around here yesterday, huh? Thinking they're something great?"
His hand reached toward the cage lock.
"Only second year and third year students are allowed to go there".
