Bruce would not tell Hilla that he would wait for her to come back. This had become his habit. Sometimes he just stayed on the balcony. Sometimes, he wandered around for a whole day, just to wait for her car to appear at the intersection not far away.
After waiting so many times, he seemed to even remember how long it would take for her to return to the room. He never missed a second.
She had stood at the door for at least five minutes just now. There were only two reasons why Hilla didn't push the door open. She didn't want to see him, or she had something hidden and didn't know how to face him.
Hilla didn't know she was still like a child in front of a man ten years old than her.
She was easily seen through.
"How did you know?"
Hilla regretted it after speaking. How stupid was she to actually admit?
"It is not what you think. Who is guilty? I am just worried about the school."
