"Thank you, Old Mrs. Yancey."
With that, Marlene bowed as low as she could until she accidentally fell to the ground.
"Oh, poor girl! Don't hurt yourself!"
Yona quickly helped Marlene up and said, "Old Mrs. Yancey is a kind-hearted person. She definitely can't bear to see you hurt yourself like this."
Marlene responded with a silly grin.
"Yona, it's just a little graze and blood. It's nothing compared to Darcy's generosity to me," said Marlene indifferently while wiping off the blood on her forehead.
"What a silly girl," said Yona while caressing Marlene's head.
With that, Yona turned and looked at Christine. "Old Mrs. Yancey, Darcy must have suffered a lot because of Ms. Joanne. That's why this silly child would come and intercede for her."
Christine's eyes shimmered slightly. She thought of how Joanne was behaving recently. Joanne was no longer as obedient and well-behaved as she used to be.
